I'll have some pictures of me in the stuff sooner or later :P

But yeah. so far i'm starting small, Just curious what exactly is the camouflage I have? Its like KLMK, but the colors are funny. I know its SPLAV, and called 'Berezka' but i'm sure there is more to it.

SPLAV is like Frontenac, so don't be surprised when you buy SPLAV staff and it doesn't exactly look right.

The Soviet Spetsodesha (Lazer) uniform is the correct colour, but that uniform is rare to find, expensive, and only used by KGB border guard.

You could find KLMK or KZS, but they are 1 or 2 peice oversuits, and not in the same cut uniform as the Splav one (M88). Splav is also lousy quality, 666 hit the needle on the head, Splav makes camo for the commercial market (And military too... sometimes), so it's always a tad off than actual issue.

Alright, Thanks you two!

Concscript, if I were to go ahead and persue the whole boarder guard thing. What kind of vests and the like should I look into to complete the impression?

Soviet KGB didn't have vests, all you really need is a belt, webbing (With the pouches, etc...), a pair of binoculars, the proper KGB hat, and an AKS-74.

Don't go with that impression though as your first, start with something more common, actual photos Soviet KGB Border Guards is somewhat hard to find and exactly pinpoint out what they wore, what guns they used etc... that impression is more for purists to complete.

Go with an Afghan impression.

Here are some pics Strelok, the first is a pic of a rather annoyed looking KGB Border Guards from the 1980's (note the camo beret and the AKM folding stock) the 2nd is the basic Soviet webbing of the time, and what your impression would need (although you could get away with a leather belt and a ammo pouch, the Border troops weren't really equipped as well as "A" class combat troops)

If he wants to go with a newer, Russian Federation impression fair enough, but if he wants to go KGB then its definitely 1980's gear!

Hmm, That all looks really nice... I've always liked the 1980's style loadbearing.

Do you know of any good places to land some gear like that? I spent the night going over some sites without much luck.

Beastor, you always impress me with your gear setups, they're always so spot on! Where do you get all of that stuff?

Also, https://secure.airsoftcanada.com/sho...&postcount=127 This guy seems to have the very stuff I have, only with a hood... I should find a jacket like that. or a seperate hood. What is the style of loadbearing He is using?

Here ya go bud, this is were I got a lot of my gear: http://sovietarmystuff.com/Product_2...uspenders.html Have a good look round there is lots of cool kit! I have never had a problem with them.

I am sure McTaz will agree these guys are good for the more modern kit: http://www.soviet-propaganda.com/

I also go to these guys in the UK for bits and bobs, they have a lot of Pre-1991 Soviet gear: http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-equip_general.htm
