Honestly, after the first couple of drones get shot down, they'll lose popularity. You'd have to keep it 300 plus feet in the air to guarantee its safety. Then there is effective control range, you'd need to wire a booster up in your gear.

Fixed that issue, just experimenting. Wire mesh window screen "bowl", like a strainer under my drone works like a charm. Popped off some rounds at it, you guys can light it up all you like, bwahahaha!

That's clever. Guess I'll have to bring a Nerf football launcher and hope it finds its target, lol. But seriously, that's a good idea. I can't imagine a drone would react well to getting hosed with BBs.

I'm not sure where you get 300 feet as a safety altitude. Seems rather arbitrary. If you decide to shoot one down, which is incredibly stupid from a safety standpoint, it will come down in a random direction (and potentially in a powerdive). Doesn't matter where you are, anyone who is generally beneath it will be at risk. Just think what kind of damage a 5-10 lb object travelling at 50-70 km/hr can do.

And then there is the props. I've seen first hand what a multi rotor prop can do to flesh. It will look like someone has cut a nice neat row of fish gills centimeters deep into you. Depending on where it hits, it can cut to the bone. Some of these props are carbon fiber and they are very strong and sharp.

Bottom line is there is no guarantee of safety with multirotors and Airsoft. Too much can go wrong with the electronics. And players with urges to shoot it down makes it exponentially more dangerous.

News flash drone guys.

Airsoft is the patron sport of shootin' stuff.

Don't be surprised that the folks will plan to shoot the drone. It's all we do.

Safe for the drone......from BBs........in the sky.......not safe for people who it may lands on.

Weighs less than a pound, rotors are shrouded. It's landed on me after hitting telephone lines. Nary a bump because of so much surface area causing it to imitate a falling leaf.

Any piece of equipment that is intended to be used for offensive or defensive purpose must be cleared with the game host. All rules that define its usage should also be covered in the game briefing.

Totally understandable. To reiterate what I said, I plan to use it to record for later. Same as any player with a gun or helmet cam would. You don't see them running back to base to upload to their lappy and see where the opposition is.
Entertainment purposes, not tactical.

"TheNorthFace" Warriors

Newbies who usually show up at places like UA. They usually wear puffy winter jackets which have the effect of creating a powerful force field enhanced Kevlar armor around their pitiful existence, making them impervious to any kind of BB strike, including 5 pistol shots from 4 feet away (true story).

That's why you shoot them in the back of the neck, or their ears, or their butt/private.

Yuck. Maybe they'll respond to 4 pistol whips from 5 inches away...

So I can buy a northface jack and basically become this:

Honestly a mistake is a mistake. 5 shots from 4 feet is horse shit. But lacing someone with an AEG from 80 feet and seeing them twitch like someone dumped a bucket of ants on them is just as annoying.

General maximum level range of an airsoft gun is 300ft
Fighting against gravity, and the fact the hop won't fire the BB in a straight line (since it's designed, and set by you, to work perpendicular to gravity), you're maybe looking at 200-250ft vertically?

So 300ft. Safe.
