These are by far the best hiking boots I have ever owned. They are uber comfy and they have amazing traction on wet rock and while climbing steep inclines. They also provide superior ankle support. I am definately getting another set so I have some for weekend hikes and camping. I was initially pissed about the cost but in the end they are worth every penny.

Thanks for the link man, I know not to waste my time begging them then. Thanks for the small review as well. I was looking for something smaller than my Danner Desert Eagle and since it works well with a SEAL impression I figured it was the best choice.

Not quite sure why you would do that - the CIRAS takes both the soft armour and the hard plates inside the rig. No need to wear a PACA underneith a CIRAS; unless it's a smaller type of Plate Carrier that holds ONLY the hard plates (i.e. - Eagle PC with Cumberbund, etc.)

If the guy was wearing a rig over his CIRAS - the only thing I can guess is perhaps there were no PACA's - just soft plate inserts at the time(?) - there might have been a mission requirements to drop all the pouches but not the protection.

I know the pic of what your talking about. It's a Navy EOD dude wearing an Eagle RRV over an Eagle CIRAS. I can't remember the exact reason why he had this set up, along the lines of that he had mounted into the release and to be able to remove the pouches to work on the explosives..

The reason that Chap wore both PACA and CIRAS as i recall was more protection from the side, this was prior to the side plates being introduced.

Back than the insurgents started to shoot through the side to get to the vital organs to avoid the plates, hence the reason why he wore both carriers at the same time.
