stock 2004 TM ak47, time for upgd's
I got a TM Ak47 when I was 14 a really long time ago I believe its a 2004 model (to give you a timeline, I bought it from airsoft kelowna a year before they shutdown). my friends all got other shitty guns like the springers you see in the sanfransisco stores in the malls, buyairsoft ones other no name clones and some cyma. needless to say my max effective range was 3 times their absolute range firing at a 45 degree angle so I only bothered to upgrade its cosmetics and not performance. So I know nothing about what the best parts are or whats quality.
I've gone through countless rounds and still find it torquei but I turn 18 soon and have surpassed my friends in skill, devotion, and equipment and want to join the big leagues. So this is for the real players who actually remember airsoft kewlona's website. and hold proper TM or CA etc, guns and know what their talking about. I have an eg2000 motor in it and, well everythings stock so I assume plastic gears. you should know whats in a stock TM Ak. I can only assume that gun is obsolete and I'll have to do some big upgrading. can you guys list off the best stuff for my gun? (doesn't have to be the absolute best million dollar stuff like systema but best vs price ((I know its gonna be expensive but whatever's reasonable for you)) what you guys use) good enough stuff to get me in the game. I was looking at those new motors 007 has, those magnums, are they better than what I got by how much? 007 does upgrading right? you send in your gearbox and he puts in what you ordered? (I ain't gonna touch it) Can you guys help me with a list of internal upgrades? |

First off all, please fill in your location so we can better help you.
Secondly, I'm not aware of TM ever making an AK, or any AEG for that matter with plastic gears. You sure its a TM? Also, i have never heard of an EG 2000, again, are you totally sure its a TM? If you do decide to do the work yourself Airsoftparts.ca is the best place in Canada. But if your unsure, just bring it to a reputable gun doc in your area. Good luck

Stock TM's Will last for pretty much ever. Remember your motor has nothing to do with how "hard" your gun will shoot, That's determined by the spring. Pretty much all I'd do is a slightly stiffer spring if everything else is still working. Along with a good shimming and some grease I expect it to continue to service you well. That being said I'll let the big dogs come in and give you the specifics.
You'd be wrong in assuming plastic gears, TM never used plastic gears AFAIK. However they might use plastic bushings which could easily lead to your confusion if you never looked inside the mechbox.

AK's are V3's

All AKs are V3 Mechboxs.
And TM AKs use a EG700 motor

sure, it could, but i believe the OP said it was stock, and never opened.
And EG 2000s are non-existent regardless but my original point still stand. It it probably still a V3 mechbox, something very similar to what you would find in a brand new TM AK. Fill in your location in your profile, and if you don't feel comfortable doing any gun work yourself, bring it to a local gun-doc for a basic overhaul. That being said, Stock TMs have been known to go for years with absolutely no work done to them, so unless you have serious issues with its performance, i would just leave it stock.
