New Movie by Paul Gross - Hyena Road

Don't see this posted anywhere here yet (hopefully I haven't duped it)! So I'm cautiously excited!

I like Paul Gross, what probably most of the world thinks of the RCMP is from him.

Saw this trailer in the theatres! I'm excited for this! I haven't seen a dedicated Canadian film about this subject yet.

The is 1 line that sends alarm bells off in my mind "From the director of Passiondale". I had such high hopes for that movie, however either Paul Gross never watched Pearl Harbour, or he did watch it and learned NOTHING from it.

I personally am going to hold off on any excitement over this movie until I see hard evidence that he has done something with this one to redeem himself.

Agreed - I was oversees when "Passiondale" came out, and was in camp when a special screening was put on. I left after about 20 minutes.....

I had the opportunity when I was living in Brandon to talk with a mucky-muck from Shilo who looked over the script. He said it was pretty solid, though there was something of a love story involved (which then led to the argument over why people need love stories in war movies).

Regardless, I plan to see the film. Quite simply there are not enough films involving Canadian troops, and if it gets the story right about how things were over there, then why worry about the rest? From the teaser it looks pretty good already.

They usually remove the Canadians from the films they are supposed to in, like Argo or Blackhawk Down.

Ugh, this new trailer is doing nothing to instill confidence in me.... At least they got most of the equipment/uniforms right.

It's supposed to be OK.

Hate a trailer that chops up a bunch of scenes and edits them together to form a sequence that doesn't happen in the film.

PS. Damm you CIA! When will you learn.
