So it's been a year and either some new people aren't reading older news posts or some older folks are getting forgetful.

So here's a reminder...

Yes, we've been getting a lot of spammers/adbots/etc lately. Thanks to everyone who's reporting it, the staff can't constantly monitor all the forums and we rely on post reports to be able to address spam (and other problematic posts) in a timely manner.

That being said, PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO SPAM MESSAGES; it makes it a lot more difficult to clean up quickly if there's a whole thread (i.e., replies) rather than a single post (the SPAM).

Also please stick to the Report Post function: do not MSN / text / phone / email / Facebook me about it, I'm not on duty 24/7 -- and odds are it'll get taken care of more quickly if the whole staff can see it.

When reporting a Spambot, should we report each individual post or will you look through all his posts and delete them?

Report all you see if you feel like it, but generally when we are alerted to one spam thread, we'll tag the system to ban the user and delete all of that user's threads in one shot.
