USMC, Grenada 1983
Been sitting on this loadout for a while and finally got all the kit I needed, also found a scorching day to try and make myself faint with the PASGT jacket, steel pot and lugging a M60 around!
Kit list: Popper BDU's (not strictly accurate, the US armed forces were using a much more uncomfortable material cut which still needed to be tweaked) M1 steel pot (with the last harness type before switiching over to the Kevlar "Fritz" the next year) PASGT jacket ALICE webbing with .45 holster and pouch (not used with a rifleman, but I always carry a side arm while playing) USMC specific medi pouch, KBAR knife (many photos with marines equipped with this in the invasion) M16A1 with black nylon sling Jungle boots gas mask satchel

nice, not enough people do this type of impression. (80's) have you done any vietnam marine impressions as well? would be pretty easy for you with that kit.

Yes cooney, absolutely right, reaction to seeing Heartbreak Ridge! Thanks for the warm feedback guys, appreciated.
Just for you Shifty-C, a work in progress: Siege of Khe San, USMC: Pretty much there, I have to drop the rank chevrons (Marines showed no rank in Nam, Army only) and I have managed to grab some old M14 pouches. WIll have the complete look soon now I have all the Correct kit! Kit list (short range patrol config): M1 Steel pot (with NO scrim band, they werent issued to Marines ) My pride and joy: XL M1951 flakjacket, fits like a glove! M44 steel loop canteen pouches (with plastic canteens but a lot of Marines had the M10 metal ones also) claymore bag plus 2 x M16 mags bandolier.
