The VFC SCAR-H mags will work out-of-the-box. Everything else would require a mod to either the magazine or the H's magwell. The magwell has a guide rail that runs along the back of the magwell which prevents non-VFC mags from working cleanly.
The Magpul SR25 mags work in an H. The two options to get them to fit are: 1) dremel a groove along the backside of the SR25 mag, so the magwell's rail will slot into it and, therefore, allow the mag to sit 2) remove the magwell rail and add a piece of velcro to help take out any slop encountered I went with option (2) on my SSR. The magwell rail was removed with a dremel sander, and tidied up with a small file. My SR25 mags seated fine, but was a little sloppy, so a piece of velcro (hook side) was added along the backside of the magwell to tighten that up. Note that the SR25 mags also needs a little mod on magazine catch so the H's magcatch will lock it in properly - that just requires a little squaring off of the upper-right corner of the magazine's catch. If you don't square that corner, the mag can be pulled out without depressing the mag release - which might lead to accidentally losing mags in the field. |

Shit I was worried about that I was gonna go for the light but now it's obsolete and I wanted to be realistic with the heavy version but the mags are gonna screw me their how much do the p mags cost or even the vfc mags?

The VFC mags were 3 for about $50, but they're ridiculously hard to find. I think they are about 70-80 rds each.
The Magpul Pmags are about $20 each from HK (plus shipping), or about $35 each in-country. They're 140 rds each. |

Meh, I never really liked the VFC H mags - they're solidly built, but feeding was temper-mental.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little but,
Is this an issue with all VFC aeg's or only the SCAR models. I only ask because I'm looking at a getting a new VFC HK416. If it is I may choose a different brand like a SRC Gen 3 Pro, after all they are about the same price. And does SRC have mag compability issues while were talking about it? |

just with the scar... my friend has the vfc 416... don't get pmags, they don't fit in the magwell because of the ribs, but standard m4 mags work.
Also... replace the piston right away with full metal tooth. His stripped after about 1000 rounds. |

The issue is only with the VFC SCAR-H and SSR models. The rest use fairly standard magazine types (though being airsoft, fitment will be case-by-case).
Regarding the piston, it's polycarbonate. Assuming you downgrade your spring, it should last a long while, but with the upgraded spring in (for import purposes), it'll strip eventually. |

OK cool. And with the piston I knew that that was an issue with the upgraded springs so that they can meet specs. I plan to down grade the spring alot anyways, you don't need huge FPS to get good clean kills, at least I never have anyways. Thanks for the info guys.
