Half tooth piston vs regular

Hi I was wondering what the advantage and disadvantages are of these two types of pistons. Can someone fill me in?

Half-tooth pistons are required by certain torque-up gearsets. Either you need one or you don't. Replace like-for-like.

Half-tooth pistons are REQUIRED for use with these gear sets:

- SystemA Infinite Torque Up
- SystemA Ultra Torque Up
- SystemA Super Torque Up (Helical, old style - new style uses regular piston)
- Prometheus MAX Torque

You can use helical pistons with other gear sets as well, but are not required and provide zero benefit. If anything, you'll have reduced contact area, stress is now focused/concentrated on to a smaller tooth area.
