Inner barrel assistance
I currently am running a G&P cqbr zombie killer. I am not well versed when it comes to upgrades.
I am not concerned with ROF as i don't spray and i prefer shoot low/mid caps. first thing i would like to do is change out the barrel for a tight bore. I plan on putting a suppressor on so i can install a longer inner. Any suggestions for a compatible combo? I don't want to shoot in the dark and end up with parts i cant use and have to return. Next order of business is a spring upgrade. The gun currently shoots around 380fps with .2's. I don't plan on being involved in any indoor play in the near future. I would like to get it in the 400-420fps range. Again, not sure of the proper way to do this. I'm assuming if the gun is shooting harder the internal parts will wear faster. Should i be upgrading other items in the mech-box? I'm doing some orders from airsoftdepot and ehobby this week so any insight would be great. Thanks, Ryan |

A tight bore barrel will increase the FPS to some degree, and a longer barrel will drastically increase your fps. If you increase the FPS with a barrel length increase, then it will not affect the longevity of the gun.

An inner barrel length increase will not "drastically" increase your FPS. Maybe by about 10 or 20.
If you put a longer inner barrel in, you might want to put a full cylinder in (non-ported, M4's have ported cylinders). Look in the Doctor's Corner section for a spring chart that Illusion made to guide your choice in springs. |
