Review: WE Glock 18C Gen4 (TA Custom)

Hello guys,

This is my first review, for my first GBB pistol. Since I don't have enough experiences on this field, I am not going to comment on the performance too much, but rely mostly on pictures and data, and discuss few things I was most concerned before getting the pistol.


The box is... Just a box. There was some stickers on it, about that is in it, and the fps rating, but I removed them.


Inside the box, a pistol with a mock silencer, 2 grip pieces, a original inner barrel, and a manual. I like the eggcrate foam in it.




The white spot on the silencer is from scratching with the box. So as the fire selector. I don't care about the looking very much, but I do wish the finishing can be better, and I think maybe some foam between the pistol and the box cover will be a good idea. (look at the "hole" on box cover)

I would like to mention that this is a later version of outer barrel of WE Glock 18C gen4. The early version have straight angle at the end of barrel, and like to break after some usage. The later version have round edges and do not break easily.

The look with the silencer is so badass that I want to keep it attached for this pic even after I changed to the shorter inner barrel.



again, the finishing is not great. Print lost due to scratch with the silencer by putting them in the same bag and carrying them home.



I am glad the thread for the silencer is in the inside of the outer barrel, so this still looks "normal" when the silencer is removed.

Looks pretty great. Do you think you can do a chrono without the silencer?

My friend and I both bought G18c's from TA. They're pretty solid guns. The suppressor that comes with it is too heavy for the slide to cycle smoothly however. It comes with the stock inner barrel if you want to take it off. Both kick impressively and give a nice loud bang. For the price, I enjoy it. Haven't had it long enough to speak much on the quality of internals.

There was some time between shots to allow the gas to regain temperature.

After the shooting, I found this Pin moved slightly to the right. Maybe I have to do sth to hold it tighter in the future.

Since this is my first GBB, I don't have much to compare on the performance wise. But I would like to compare it to two of my other Glock replicas, a TM Glock 18C EBB, and an Umarex SA177 CO2 BB gun (Not an airsoft gun!).

The TM Glock 18C EBB is all plastic, but still a nice looking replica of Glock 18C on the external.
The SA177 is not exactly a replica, but the external is most close to a Glock 17. (Plus the trigger... But the trigger safety is not real.) It weight 1 kg - slightly heavier than a loaded real steel Glock 17.
The WE G18C is even heavier than the SA177.



Both the SA177 and the WE G18C do not fit into the replica FOBUS holster, which my TM G18C can fit. I heard the WE G18C can fit into a replica Blackhawk CQC holster, with some work, but not confirmed.

But surprisingly, the WE G18C can fit into a kydex holster holster I made for my SA177.

It's not how hot the temp in room is (though it helps) it's how hot that magazine is.

ie. you could have a hot magazine in the middle of a frozen lake in Antartica while polar bears are shooting snowballs at you, as long as your magazine STAYS hot, that pistol will fire and you'll get a good FPS output.

and vice versa.

You could have a cold magazine while firing in the middle of the sun and it will drop the FPS output.

Good review though. I was wondering about about the FPS values on these TA specific guns...

I wonder if it will be pissible to change this to some kind of "glow in the dark" sight in the future. (No, I don't mean Tritium sight, they are too expensive...)

I had to assume the magazine temperature is same or close to room temperature, since I don't have anything to measure the temperature on the magazine or the gas inside the magazine. I let sometime between shots, to allow the magazine to go back to room temperature.

I posted the room temperature data mostly to indicate that I didn't fire my gun outside when it was -10C in Sackville yesterday.

magazines are never at room temperature (especially if you've just filled the gun up with gas and start firing) unless you let the magazine sit in the room for an extended time for it actually reach or match room temp.

but I understand what you did there...

I also shot a piece of cardboard at 15 feet for 10 rounds to check the precision.

But, since I am not a good pistol shooter at all, the accuracy is poor and do not reflect the actual precision of the pistol.

I decided not to post the pic of the cardboard so you guys won't know how awful my shooting is...
