Batteries!

Hey, I've got a quick question. If I run a large 9.6v battery in a stock G&G R4 (Full buttstock version) it should be able to take it, right? The motor should only take what it needs, I believe. Here is the link to the 9.6 batteries I want:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-9-6V-3800mAh-N...4#ht_780wt_882
Should I be ok with these, or should I get some smaller ones? Maybe a nun-chuck?

Thanks

If you want my advice, stay away from the TEnergy batteries (the ones in the Ebay picture). I personally have 2 X 9.6V and one 8.4V and the performance is pitiful : my TLP charger won't load them past 2500 mAh, so they're pretty far from the supposed 3800 mAh advetiised, and the 9.6V have about the same power than my 8.4V Sanyos...

I really regret buying these...

dude, i have many TEnergy batteries, in fact i now have another two in transit. i love them, the BEST bang for your buck that i can find, cheap, and in my experience reliable.

im no expert on G&G guns though, but from what i have heard a gun that comes stock with a 8.4 and handle a 9.6 but dont hold me responsible is something goes wrong, thats just what i have heard form reading on this site.

Although they may be the best "bang for your buck" batteries are still cheap, don't skimp with mediocre cells. Buy either Intelect or Elite. You can get them from airsoftparts.ca in canada, Cheapbatterpacks.com or Stayrk here sells Elite packs for a decent price.

Buy good batteries, you won't regret it.

Tenergy batteries are made in the same factory as the Intellect batteries.

But as with anything, there is different grades.

Even the Intellect brand.

You can get one 9.6v 1400mAh for as low as 25$.
Or you can get an other pack, also Intellect 9.6v 1400mAh for 80$.

Same goes for Tenergy batteries.

If it is too cheap to be true, it is not.

I have been using the SAME 9.6v 3800mAh pack for the last 2 years. Running a 400 fps rifle.

If you get them right from the source, you get the best ones.
Ebay gets the remains.
Cheap Ebay sellers get the crap.

All-battery is the direct retailer of Tenergy batteries, an american brand I believe. They have an online store and an ebay store, that is why I am comfortable dealing with them.

Ive owned and used a few different types of tenergy packs over the years that were bought on Ebay, with great hopes and high expectations and at best I can only think of 1 occasion out of 4 where I was even remotely happy with one of their battery packs. Ive run into all sorts of issues from bad soldering, bad shrink wrapping of the cells, cells not charging, cells not holding a charge, dead cells and the list could go on. Out of the 4 tenergy battery I have owned, only one little 8.4v 1100mah battery is still in my possession, the rest went in the trash. I dont think I will ever buy a battery pack on ebay again.

If your going to go with a brand of battery, try and source it from an actual retailer not an ebay seller.

Now a days for my battery needs I have either local company custom make my packs or I order from cheapbatterypacks.com. Despite their name they are a fantastic company with great reviews from a good majority of this website. Low cost, quick shipping and good communication.

To comfirm above.

I have used *full sized Elite Batteries for my RC cars. Often times I get about an extra 10% mah out of them. having said that, i am currently using TEnergy 1600mah 2/3 minis. My charges so far (charging 7 cells @ .5a) are approaching the stated 1600mah. The best thing you can do is treat your batteries right. If you do a search there is a very good thread on care and charging of your batteries. All I can say, abuse you batteries and they will not last.

Heed TokyoSeven's advice. Use a local hobby shop that others in your area have had good raport with.

As for your original question. Sorry, no clue.
