Looking For First Gun

Im saving up for a rifle, my first, but I want some opinions on what I should get. My top two choices are the TM G36C or a new C8 carbine I hear is coming out from Bob the Angry Potato. The difference between the two is price and one is metal. So if I can get some help or other options that would be great.

which one is metal? i would definately go for a full metal rifle, although it may be more pricey, it would certainly be worth it. A full metal gun is very sturdy and reliable but you have to know how to take care of it, internal metal parts needs to be kept well oiled with CLP so that your gun does not rust and become a piece of useless junk. Think carefully before purchasing one of those guns..you're spending a lot of money. Anyways, in the long run, a full metal gun is excellent and very reliable and lasts longer than plastic body guns. just my two cents. - R.S.

Well obviously the C8 is metal because as you may know TM does not make full metal guns. What I would do is wait until the C8 comes out (if it does, I have no clue) wait until it is out for a little bit and read a review on it. Yes it may last longer externally but you also have to think about the quality of the internals.

I have to say that TM G36c IS a nice, reliable, well built gun and for a first gun (assuming this is a fair-sized investment for you and you won't have a lot to burn after on upgrades/repairs) I would go with it.

You should decide if you want to play more CQB (close range) or more outdoor (further) games. Or both. The G36C can be used outdoors but the short barrel will shorten your distance by a little. Its something you have to consider. There has been very good things said about this gun by their owners.

A decent supply of C8's are at least six months from being in country.

The TM G36C would be the top choice, solid reiable. and its well built you also can depend on TOKYO MARUI, it will not fail you. the G36 is good for indoor you can colaspe the stock.

Before considering buying anything, read the Age Requirements information. And then read what age is required to play in your area.

Then, when the time comes, dont by a crappy gun.

Read this website.

Please don't. From my experience they are absolute crap, at least in performance. My friend hasn't had his long enough to say much about reliability but it's performance is a good 30-50 ft less range than a TM and a crapload less accuracy.
