The condor tear away pouch is very big. Our team had one "issued" (on our own funds). We ended up ditching it or using it for something else, but not on our 2nd line.

Mine got transformed into a demo-kit.

But to answer your question, you can pretty much attach it any side, but it's best if it's either top down or top up. On the side, the safety buckle that hold it won't do it's job and it will rip away on it's own.

Being big, I'd wear it on my side, near my armpit, if I had no choice.

In my med kit, I have basic stuff:

Sterile gauzes
combat sterile bandages
triangle bandages
bandaids
nitrile gloves
medical tape
Sisors
Electrolites tablets
Quickclot (Just because I can)
A very small light.
1 Tourniquet

I just miss the sterile saline. I ran out of it.
