I can now confirm with 100% certainty that what you are saying is untrue.
I did a burn test, the BBs burn differently. The new ones melt faster and char black, they smell sugary when burnt. The old ones melt more slowly, forms a crust, and the char is turns black and then white. Smell is like burnt plastic/electronics.
I also did a heat test. The new BBs have a lower melting point and begin to bubble on the surface much sooner. They are also much softer at the same temperature. The old ones begin to deform at the seam and bubble much later, the bubbles are also bigger. They are also not as soft at the same temperature.
Here is a video of the heat test. I staggered the old and new so that uneven heating wouldn't significantly bias results.
