Yeah, it's similar to using a reflex sight. Ultimately I want to change my hand guard to an extended free float rail system, probably around a 12" or so. This in turn would mean removal of the front sight. I know how to safely remove it, I just don't want to until I find a rail system that will work with this gun model; it would look kinda silly without it right now.
