9-ball one is stainless steel, its just that since they use the special bearing system at the spring perch that base perch is a seperate piece from the rest of the guide, which I guess was a pressed fit. But since its a 1911 rod it was drilled at the end to fit the 1911 style hop-up housing and I guess the press fit is loose....
I actually did manage to fix it, and actuall am running this rod on my Hi-Capa(with a buffer this time) to see how much abuse my industrial strength adhesive-fix can take.....it's been about 200 rounds since the fix....
I think I will run it like that for now and until it breaks again. In the meantime I'll track down another full length rod for the 1911....
