With the motor out you can take a metal pick or cut a coat hanger and bend about 1/4" of the end 90 degrees and reach in and grab on to the anti-reverse lever and pull down. That should release it.

It would be easier to just cut your pistol grip off your existing stock. File the rough edges down and then use some auto body filler to smooth things out and repaint the stock black.

Having done the mods required I've not had any problems with using the original Famas mags in the Famas or the modified M16 Mags in the famas and he modified M16 mags still work in all my M16 & M4s....
