Need to lose 4fps lol

Field I play in has a 380fps limit (Siege Airsoft in toronto). Got a new M100 for my AM014 because my M90 was shooting 320 and fuck that and now its shooting 381-385. Anyway I can lose these few fps fairly easy?

Shoot more. The spring will relax and you will loose some FPS

how much more

easy fix it you want to leave your gun sit around for a few days: try to get the spring in a pressed position, then let is sit like that for a 3 days, that should lower the fps easily.

Don't forget 380fps is a limit not a goal, it's CQB afterall.

An AEG spring should, on average, settle into a ~10 fps loss; YMMV. You can always cut a coil(s) if you're still shooting too hot.

Just cut a coil or 2 off, and it should be fine.

That's not how springs work. You can leave a ferrous spring compressed for 9 months and it won't lose 1fps.

Springs only wear down via being used.

You can just remove the bearing from your spring guide or piston head and that will bring you down 5-10fps

Cops won’t pull you over for doing 10 over, I don’t think this guy should have to go Leonardo DaVinci on his gun for 4fps, that’s inane

It's a limit not a goal.

Why not 390 fps then? Heck that's a weird number why not 400 then? If you make an exception for one person you'll need to make exceptions for all. And then suddenly there are no limits.

silent_lemon March 8th, 2018 11:30

Yes 380 is a strange limit for indoor play, it's nearly outdoor par 400fps on full auto.

Why not 390? because the limit is clearly 380, which could easily have a 1-2% grace given at any given velocity. Edit-especially go account for temperature altitude and magic

380 x 1% would be 4fps, and would remain 4 fps all the way up to 400fps. This isnt a coke vs pepsi challenge guys, theres no difference.

Siege is pretty firm on their FPS limit. For the purpose the OP intended for, the hard limit is 380 FPS, and there were multiple solutions listed.

A guy at Siege had his gun at 385 FPS last time I was there, he was not allowed to use his gun.

While I do agree that realistically, you won't feel that 5 FPS difference, it's still above the limit.

wouldn't putting in a wider bore barrel also drop the FPS a few and require less surgery on the gun?

Styrak March 8th, 2018 12:12

Put the M90 back in. 320 is plenty for indoor.

It's for insurance purposes. Don't compare speeding with getting sued.
