Click on the peoples traders rating. Chances are if they have all positive feedback then you will be safe though it does not go without risk.

Fidget11 October 7th, 2006 00:08

yeah if a trader rating is good then you should be safe. personally if you buy from someone who seems to be around alot as well chances are they are not gonna burn you because they are well known in their community. if you want added safety talk to someone else who airsofts with them and ask about the person.

personally i dont think you will be likely to get burned on the classifieds as long as your honest and up front and the seller is as well you should be fine. ask lots of questions and make sure the deal is clear and you will be fine.

Well, it's always safer to buy from verified user, because you know somewhere out there, this guy exists in the country.

Other than that, take cautions, trade personal information, home number, ISP email (ie not gmail or hotmail, work emails would be ok too), home address if possible, and give him a call once you get a number to make sure.

Can non-verified folks access the classifieds??? Is it a glitch?

Just get age-verified and buy from a Retailer if you are worried. It's always best to buy new equipment when you start off, since you're then sure about what you get.

Again, just for you GL, the Age Verified icon has yet to be imported... Perhaps zone 69 can see the classified ads because he is verified.

Aren't the accessories and gear still open to non-age verified?

Did you Email the retailers for it, or did you just look at their stocks? For anything you dont see, it's Normal to ask the Retailers directly for it.

Can I ask, why is it good to get thier ISP email & not the others like gmail, hotmail etc??

Because you can easily create a throwaway Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo/etc account. But the ISP email is linked to an account, and if push comes to shove the authorities could get information associated with the account from the ISP.

Hi All,

I used to be into airsoft a few years back and I am no longer participating due to other priorities in life. I want to sell my equipment and once I get age verified would like to make use of the classified section. I have not sold before nor do I plan to again, which means I will not have a seller rating. Are there any suggestions on how to sell in this case?

Appreciate your help.

Freeze July 9th, 2019 14:42

I am unsure if necroing a thread was the right thing, but I'll answer anyways.

Typically when you sell something, money is sent first, so as a seller, you should have the money in hand for both the item and shipping before you send out, regardless of trader rating.

Otherwise if you send out first it's possible they keep your item and don't give you the money.

Another option is cash on delivery so they have to pay upon the package arriving before they can open it up.
