Importing from USA or HK?

Hello all,

I'm curious to hear what everyone's experience was ordering from the likes of evike.com, airsoftgi.com or redwolf?

Is it not advisable?

I've ordered an rifles from evike and ehobby. My experience with both were ok-smooth. Both companies included papers documenting the fps (>366fps) and both were opened by customs (held for 2-3 days).

Expect to be charged around 25% in duties. You may get lucky and they just let you through, but I doubt it if they declare your package truthfully.

Accessories/Gear is just like anything else you'd buy off eBay. Some people say foam filled suppressor and fake cartridges in your mags are a no-no, but they didn't seem to mind when they opened up my packages.

All things considered, if I were to decide between HK or USA I would pick HK. Better selection from Asian retailers and no orange tip. Trademarks also seem to be less of an issue in Asia, so that's a plus if you're into it.

Buuut, if a Canadian retailer has it for just a bit more, buy local !

I've ordered off Evike before and so far no issues. Keep in mind everything I've ordered has that Canadian compliant seal on the store page so I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes.

It's fine as long as you meet import requirements. Just a note, duties on airsoft is actually 5%, not sure where 25% came from unless you're including HST (which you'd have to pay locally anyway) or the brokerage fees (which you can avoid if you self clear).
