It's to keep the stock lever in place and prevent it from inadvertently actuating.

techobo March 20th, 2009 15:11

The first run of crane stocks were made from glass fiber polymer and would make the stock slip out of place. The rubber band was used to keep the stock from slipping out of position. But from what I understand, the problem does not exist in the new crane stocks.

Its a called a Identification/Callsign Patch. So for example over the radio instead of calling the operators name you call out the number.Im gonna let someone else lay it out in detail.

Translation charts (or other similarly useful bits of paper) of that kind are quite often seen on SEALs (as well as several others SF units) stocks... Has anybody made one and would want to share it? I'd use it as a base for my own..

Sorry, stupidly I can't find the ref pics I had. I ll post them when I finally find them lol.

Edit: Arg, I can't seem to find the right words to search for this one Google. The only place I know exactly where to find pics of this is on Wannabe. So I know those guys are airsofters, but just so you get what I'm talking about:

quick question, if the SEAL were to use an LBT6049 rig would the SEAL still use the PACA armor? Or would hard armor be used?

Ace of SpadesĀ© April 14th, 2009 00:24

Yes they would unless they are wearing stand alone hard plates.

Seems like the newest fad on the block happens actually to be stand alone plates... They may be heavier then normal ones + soft armor backing, but less bulky and more mobility.

Greenside ops and direct action don't go together. People have to understand that the fact of wearing a green or woodland BDU doesn't make it greenside. What makes your loadout a greenside one will be the fact of being geared toward SR (special reconnaissance) which will usually be a lighter rig with some sort of backpack to last out there for a few days.

If you're going DA (direct action) then you'll be geared heavily with a plate carrier and some sort of soft armor underneath it. The color of your camo won't matter at all and this is what will be considered blackside ops.

Sorry but this has been bugging me for a while. By plate carrier I'm assuming you mean something like a CIRAS right? And a PACA underneath? This has been bothering me for so long. If I can find it, I was sure I saw a guy with a Maritime CIRAS without pouches and he had a harness type rig OVER that. Confused the hell out of me.

Take the listed US Price and Double it...that's how much it's going to cost you. Customs likes to rape you on the duty when it comes to shoes.

Yeah man, I had that happen when I got my Danner boots. You still have to tell me where though, I remember reading about you having trouble finding a place that would ship them to our good old Canada.
