Condor Hydration Harness 242

I have been using the Condor 242 hydration harness and found it to be terrific. It is designed to integrate into the existing Condor MCR4, MCR5, MCR6 and MCR7 chest rigs.

Which chest-rig do you have/attached it to? I've been thinking about picking one up for my MCR7.

I have a MCR4 which is the oldest version but is all molle so you can configure it anyway you like. (It does have a M4 pouch on each side). I run triple stacker M4 pouches on my MCR4 along with other pouches. I also prefer all my mags in front of me for easy access and a dump pouch on my left being right handed. Also have my pistol holster on the right and still more room to spare.

The MCR5 sucks because the pouches (M4) are factory sewned.

The MCR6 is good with six built in 4M mag pouches or you can treat the MCR6 like a MCR4 and run molle mag pouches.

My friend has a MCR7 which looks weird because the release (buckle) is in the front reducing valuable mounting area for molle pouches. Looks kinda stupid when he is geared up and the middle has a gap with nothing on it.

People do buy the MCR5, MCR6 or MCR7 for reasons. The MCR4 or MCR6 just seems like the most practical design Condor had, all molle and so you can configure it anyway you like.

I rather like the MCR 7 or ronin rig. I don't miss the couple extra rows that the middle buckles eliminate. I has got to be one of the easiest rigs to put on with this setup. it is similar to a battle belt setup, but with a good harness setup with or without the hydration harness.

The buckle on the MCR7 loses three columns of molle. The MCR4 has four rows of molle whereas the the MCR7 has only three.

It's enough for me. I actually like the fact that the limited molle real-estate forces you to travel light.
I'll post a pic tonight in the 2nd line gallery of my set-up

Can you post a pic here as well.

as a bonus of the middle buckles you can go prone and not be laying on your mags by simply unbuckling and spreadin out the sides. Very comfortable for long periods of time. I don't miss the rows of molle if you are running milsim you only need 3-4 midcaps, so a nice double stack TACO mag pouches are good and leave room for other pouches or a holster

That is why Condor offers the MCR4, 5, 6, 7 to give us choices.

The hydration harness is such a great product being able to integrate into it so it can be a single vest.

i bought a Hydro Harness in the spring to go with my MCR4 and i love the damn thing to death, last year i was always running out of water when i had to carry bottle in molle pouches on my belt, now i don't have that proble, also the Harness has molle on it so it solved my radio placement problem as well because now i can put it on my back instead of my chest.

SuperHog August 19th, 2013 19:59

I find with the hydro harness, the chest rig has better balance. Before it was extremely front heavy.

I just zip tied my Condor Hydration pack to my MCR4 and it works great!
No need to spend extra money :)
