New package arrived for Nightfall 4. Check it out below.

What are your thoughts on these being used in airsoft etc?

Nightfall 4 Drone - First flight test

if its being used as a 3rd party filming platform thats fine,
but if its being used by team, then there should be rules in place that give the oposing force the ability to disable it.

If each team has the ability to use it, then great. Is it a perk that they must earn, or will both sides have their own drone?

Hopefully people will be responsible enough not to try and shoot it down also :)

If drones were permitted in anything but a " to get cool video" way. Such as transmitting real time video to a operator there must be limits.

1 the drone should be required to remain above a certain altitude so that it could only transmit top down images.

2. The mission duration of the drone should be limited, and a required off station time duration enforced.

The purpose of these limitations are to simulate high altitude surveillance drones that would not be shootable.

If a small drone is used at ground level. It has to be shootable.

I dare you to shoot mine down. I have a FPV racer. It has survived crashes into trees and concrete walls. I doubt "plastic" bbs will do anything to it.

High altitude or nothing. The blades on some of those will cut clean to the bone.

Szevin March 28th, 2015 12:26

Holy shit, that's awesome Superhog! How much do I need to spend to do that? But yeah, drones in Airsoft should be regulated to a certain height and everything else everyone else is saying.

Reignman March 28th, 2015 13:02

Cool. Will take into consideration.

Why is plastic in quotations...? They ARE plastic:p

I've never seen them used at any milsims I've been to, but the idea behind them seems pretty sound. The only thing that seems questionable is the advantage a team having one would have....

Hacking the drone is still kosher right?

zombiesniper March 28th, 2015 15:07

Drones are WAY to dangerous! You should send it my way!

Seriously I think drones could be great for filming or gameplay. Can't wait to see some video.

These drones only have about 25 minutes of flight time, so off station time to recharge would be necessary, I think.

Rules have been put into play how it will be used at Nighfall. It will benefit both Teams. A new Dynamic to our game.
