SYSTEMA has refined its Professional Training Weapon (P.T.W) to debut the polished performance 2012 Final Evolution Version. Some of the changes include:

The inner barrel has undergone some changes to the shape at the tip of the barrel, designed to not disturb the trajectory of the round as the compressed air ejects the BB from the barrel.

We added an improvement to the HOP adjuster, maintaining the accuracy of short range targets while increasing the flying distance for long range targets.

A new 7511 type motor boasts a newly designed Core Piece and Commutator for the 2012 model. Neodymium magnets with improved heat resistant performance have also been integrated. The bearing size has also increased. With those improvements, an even higher output and greater durability performance is ensured.

New Stainless Steel Cylinder Unit maintains its shape aiding stability and accuracy.

And finally, for the 2012 model, we incorporated the MAGPUL Company’s back-up rear site as well as the trigger guard in our Challenge Kit.

mcguyver March 7th, 2012 16:32

And the price is going up.

frackz March 7th, 2012 16:37

new motor will be swapable in current gen ptw's?

theshaneler March 7th, 2012 16:52

sort of...
the new ones will be higher torque, and thicker. and the grip will also be the same size outer, so the inside will have a larger opening, which means current PTW grips wont work, without some dremmeling

c3sk March 7th, 2012 16:56

Tasty.

FreelancerInc March 7th, 2012 17:02

and I thought I was done buying ptw stuff

you are also forgeting about some standard magpul goodies for the 2012

leblanc74 March 7th, 2012 20:29

Are you kidding me...I just ordered my Inokatsu and now P.T W. has a new one coming out? Will it be with the silver cylinder?

justiceorjustus March 7th, 2012 20:31

wonder if the current mags will work, what the higher price will be and if anyone is still accepting souls lol

kullwarrior March 7th, 2012 23:11

Just being the messenger, the 2012 PTW in Tackleberry's mind (if you don't know who Tackleberry is you don't know PTW world) The Hopup increase is about the same as the Hop-up mod he offer (Double tap tactical uses the same method tackleberry did)

Super Hop for PTW should be out/ already out and it was reported being superior than the traditional ptw or standard hopup in everyway except maybe cost.

The motor is STILL NOT fix, rewind is still going to happened.

This is taken from Tackleberry on Systema PTW forum

FreelancerInc March 7th, 2012 23:42

i wanna know more about the barrel

Karma_ March 7th, 2012 23:49

The barrel opens up at the last half inch to a larger inner diameter. It'll be interesting to see how it does performance wise.

ThunderCactus March 7th, 2012 23:50

hm.... maybe I should offer barrel mods for older styles lol

FreelancerInc March 7th, 2012 23:54

well ive been told that DTT has a laith...maybe that can be something new in their store ;)

mcguyver March 8th, 2012 00:26

2011 PTWs are still what is available folks. If you want to know, you can always look at the serial number. It tells you which year it was made.

Darklen March 8th, 2012 01:19

And still no G36 version...

FreelancerInc March 8th, 2012 08:15

bob i feel your pain man

Viperfish March 8th, 2012 12:15

Maybe i should hop on the PTW train....

R3CON1 March 8th, 2012 12:43

Some good add... Now how much for this add ...

Lol maybe yours Morb, I 've played in torrential rain in mine no issues on the PTW except those damn 1st and 2nd gen piece of shit

theshaneler March 8th, 2012 14:02

ya, the new electronics don't have issues with the rain

Warlock March 8th, 2012 14:49

What is the difference with the new hop-up ?

Do we still have to remove the mag like the old one ?

the new 2012 hop up have 50% of tackleberry hop up mod done

Ricochet March 12th, 2012 11:00

Like anything electronic it should dried out after use in the rain. But I can attest that they stand up just fine in most weather conditions. Some of the after market optics come pre-sealed. "available from doubletaptactical". I'm assuming this will be an added feature. The Gen3/2008 versions stood up very well as it were. Systema also mentioned that they dropped there motor manufacturer awhile back. The problem being the manufacturing, not the design. So hopefully that's been dealt with. But if Tack says they are still hit or miss, then I guess that's that. I'm curious to see the new price, I wouldn't mind getting another M16.

Who knows what the next gun they release will be. It seems the American Military is sticking with the M4/M16 series, after much debate. A few years back Systema announced R&D going into making the Scar. However that project was dropped after the announcement of the ACR Masada. I assumed all the trouble the ACR has been having would halt Systema from making a training weapon version. It would seem that the Masada is still being worked on though. And if Systema is releasing their new PTW with Magpul pieces then the Masada may still be their next logical step. Unfortunately anytime they announce a new gun it takes them four plus years to get it out on the market.

Same here. I've run mine wetter than any AEG I've owned and it's been fine. Stock too. No aftermarket nail polish :D

frackz March 12th, 2012 11:35

i hope parts are interchangeable ! would like a little stronger hop up to use with heavier weight BB's.

if you get your PTW from double tap the hop up mod is already done, I started to use .45 on my M16A3 with the red cylinder just for shits and giggles and it have no issues, straight and far. My M4 also with the tackleberry mod also have no issues using heavier grade bbs

Ricochet March 12th, 2012 13:13

The hop-up mod is phenomenal. As well the motor mod. I had Tackleberry do my '07, and it went for four years. Actually it died when I smashed my lower receiver and grip at Cold Front II. Either way, well worth it.

MadMorbius March 14th, 2012 09:50

Mine's a gen 3 I believe, and (at best) you lose semi auto when it's wet.

yeah had one of those, it went dead after 1 game where it was really foggy and lots of moisture in the air, I think that was the gen that made me swore off PTW all together but recently they pull me back in starting with the CQBR, TW5, 2012 M16A3 and soon another 2012 M4

MrEvolution March 14th, 2012 17:38

Ohh the PTW...
Once at flag raiders was very rainy. Dude didnt have a barrel condom on his gun, and the mag was in.
Sitting around eating the rot dogs, and the guys PTW decides to start shooting on its own. Brit ter had just moved out of the way too. Supremely lucky. (he woulda been shot in the nuts on full auto from 2 inches away)

Ricochet March 15th, 2012 16:10

It's sad they don't have a few more variations of the PTW. I like the M16, but it's not my favorite gun. However, the M series rifles are so easy to modify and accessorize you can almost make it look like anything you want. There is a 416 kit available for PTWs now as well. Not to mention PTWs can use almost any real steel accessory, optic, or furniture.

But I've used mine in the rain and snow. I guess my advice, is to disconnect your battery immediately if you think water got inside. Use a can of air duster (computer cleaner) to blow out your boards and optics, then let her sit stripped apart in a dry place fir awhile.

I once played in a torrential downpour, and heavy fog all day. I then put it back in my gun case wet. The foam in the case was already moist. It sat there like that for a week. The optic board failed a month or so later. Also don't use heat to dry your gun out. They really are the best, but not invincible. A minor amount of care is required.

Operator Issue.

Who does this 'Dude' happen to be exactly? Just making a note to self about not attending games with said 'Dude' present. You'd be helping quite a few here with their personal notes to self i'm sure.

Was Joe absent that day? He usually hammers such carelessness. I wouldn't blame the gun.

I've seen a similar issue with a team mates PTW. At FlagRaiders. Only there wasn't a mag in the gun, and it was sitting on the table poised at his own crotch... PTW's are cock magnets.

That and teeth removers.

I got this electrical waterproofing spray at work (electra-coat by lubemaster), the liquid sets up into a scotch tape like plastic film, works great for waterproofing battery terminals, boards, and the like.
I'm considering spraying my boards with this stuff, then cutting it away between the optical contacts.
We had a hoist control remote fall into a hot rinse tank at work, took it apart, blew it out, worked. Sprayed the inside with that plastic film, they got it wet twice since and it hasn't stopped working.
I'd say it's probably the best bet for waterproofing PTWs

I've done that on my two PTWs. :) The first one has so far survived 3 years of all weather play and I've played in some very wet games during that time. Even before I sprayed my boards I played some really wet games and never had any problems but I figure it wouldn't hurt to protect my boards.

Oh as for the PTW that went off, there's a bit more back story to it... I know the gun and game in question, the owner earlier in the week had severed the wires that run into the buffer tube and just taped them back together. Don't know if that along with the rain lead to a short but it's possible.

FreelancerInc April 18th, 2012 14:31

Frenchy if u do that to ur gun send lindsey the how to if it doesn't wreck ur boards lol

m102404 April 18th, 2012 14:39

I got a can of the spray on electrical tape (similar to marine electronics spray) from Colin. It's worked great for years on more than a few PTW's. Last time I used it was in a knee deep swamp and everything was damp/soaked (obviously the gun didn't go underwater...but there wasn't much care taken otherwise).

Very light coats is the way to go...let dry between. If it goes on too thick it risks jamming/gumming up microswitches. I just replaced the side board on a buddy's PTW because it was put on too thick. It's fixable...but you've got to pick it all out and that's pretty fiddly.

Another potential downside is that if you apply too much (IIRC the can says to apply 2-3 applications) the front board will be very hard to put into the trigger/mech unit...and very, very, very hard to pull out. You can clean it off the very edges so there's no dimension issues...learned that the hard way.

I just used a bit of painters tape over the optical contacts when I spray them.

ThunderCactus April 19th, 2012 10:05

Yep, that was my plan! :)
This stuff goes on pretty thin with just one coat, very much like scotch tape with one coat.
It's specifically designed for spraying electronic components, so I'm pretty damn confident it won't toast anything. Only takes an hour to fully dry all the way through.
I gotta take my gun apart to paint it anyway, might as well water proof it while it's convenient lol

So when is it actually coming to out/ arriving in Canada?

Ricochet April 20th, 2012 16:43

Unfortunately that's the truth. As far as I know the gun has been completed. It's a matter of production and shipping.

Karma_ April 30th, 2012 21:35

So DTT has received some prebuilt 2012 Challenge kits. CQB's and M4A1's. They aren't on the site yet but they are finally in:D

Thanks bud. We have some accessories coming in soon.

Whiskey May 13th, 2012 23:03

I just gamed my 2012 DTT PT and I love it. F#cking tack driver!

Ricochet May 15th, 2012 14:27

I was very impressed with the gun. We did some testing and gaming with it, and it's nothing short of amazing. I do like the few changes they have made as well. It is very much so still a Systema PTW, following their known build. However, I found it to be noticeably better than prior models, having owned some myself. Although PTWs already had a solid accuracy/range/grouping factor in the past, the Evolution did it just a little better.

Thanks to Double Tap Tactical. As always it's great dealing with you. If anyone needs anything Systema, DDT are the ones to talk to.

Invasian May 31st, 2012 17:27
