These are straight up amazing.

I have about a million questions concerning how you run a 96 hour milsim game...

Care to answer a few of them?

appslapp June 7th, 2011 08:54

No problem, but I have nothing to do with the game itself.....just a member of a network of airsoftplayers that plays in a platoon element in this/other games.

Gerkraz June 7th, 2011 08:59

How did hits work?

What was the procedure when you were hit? Did you lay down and wait for a medic, or respawn elsewhere?

How were mission objectives dealt with?

Did each team have a command element that assigned missions? If so, who did they get their objectives from?

TheAngrySniper June 7th, 2011 09:39

Holy fuck. Those photos are outstanding.

MilanWG June 7th, 2011 09:53

AMAZING!

Love the painted truck!

When hit, you did go to a respawn, but you were not allow to respawn back in the same firefight.

Mission objectives were handed down from the fractions commander (in reality, the gamemaster) and then it was up to the company comander to react to the mission, as he wanted/felt was the right way to do. It was not scripted game in that way, when it comes to perform the misson.

And in 96 hours you have a lot of opportunitys to plan a mission in different ways....and in a correct way.

We are two platoons that are working together in biggames/milisim.

here is the gamearea:

96hrs! Yay!
That's a true hardcore game.
How did you guys managed your camping\cooking\sleeping?

Pics are awesome!
Nice trucks, loadouts, and nice camera work.
Had lots of pleasure watching it.

appslapp June 7th, 2011 10:35

it was all out camping.....all from using a tarp, tent...to sleeping in your ingame car, we had a base but it was just some area you had to defend.

You had to be self-sufficient for 96 hours...except the wather that was coming in to the camp on a regular basis.
Food was most freeze-dry stuff.....made on jetboils/gasstoves.

Gerkraz June 7th, 2011 10:59

How did you deal with non-combatants?

In such a large play area, what would you do if you encountered civilians?

appslapp June 7th, 2011 12:34

The civilians are accustomed to these games by now in this area.....and so are the police;)

if any civilians are spoted, then the game is off until the civilian has left the area...but they are not many out there.

FOX_111 June 7th, 2011 12:46

Hum. Make me wonder if our player mass is ready for such event here in Canada.
I'm hosting a game on a 9km square field and I have many people that are affraid to come.

Maybe next time, I will host a game of this magnetude if it all goes well this year. I think I might have a field that would allow for a full weekend and several km worth of roads and forest. I'm just afraid 90% of the players are not up to it or capable.

ViR June 7th, 2011 13:00

Fox, do you ever have "english" friendly games? I would love to come for a major milsim.

FOX_111 June 7th, 2011 13:20

Most players are biligual enough.
I would not be confortable giving a full breafing in english, but I would be able to sumerise to a small group.

I once hosted a large game where we had teams from Ontario and specific mission where handed to them in english.

Wantabe_Warrior June 7th, 2011 15:59

What about you give the French briefing and somebody else does the english translation?

appslapp, How big was the area? I couldn't really see a scale or anything to give a size of the area.

edit: missed the part about the handed out briefings.
