He's been slapped.

THe_Silencer March 5th, 2011 00:47

About time this issue was brought up. pretty fucking annoying when you dont know how much items were sold for.

TokyoSeven March 6th, 2011 03:48

Its inevitable regardless what I say that there will always be those that refuse to or are simply to lazy to read the rules. Well effective right now this comes to a halt. Your ignorance is not my issue. As a member of this forum you all should be familiar with the rules. I have always thought of myself as an easy going understanding person with much patience however being patient only gets you so far.

Effectively immediately I will ban any user for 24 hours that I catch violating rules number 5 or 6.

I will list them here again for your viewing pleasure.

Quote:

5) Do not bump with "BANANA", "SPF" or "SOLD": just edit it into one of your existing posts

6) Creating a new post just to add information or pictures IS CONSIDERED A BUMP! If you have new information to add, and the time period has not yet expired since your last valid post, then just add this new information in to the last post or in to the original post!

If you lose your sales deal because of your 24 hour ban, its none of my concern.
My only concern is users abiding by forum rules. Your ignorance is not my problem. The rules are extremely easy to follow and if I have to make an example out of a few of you then so be it.

Like the other staff I have the ban hammer but also have ban chloroform as well and I will not hesitate to put you out for 24 hours and stick you in the ASC's time out cellar to teach you lesson.

You have all been warned.

THEnub March 6th, 2011 21:47

Fairly certain this was already said months ago, what's with the second chance? (Granted, I personally didn't realize the Banana bump rule)

Glad to see you're looking to flex your banning skills, power too you.

Strelok March 6th, 2011 23:26

Can we also make it so people cant post 15 3000x3000 pictures in their thread?

People should really get in the habit of resizing their images, its a headache having to wait for that shit to load.

I've just finished cleaning out all the classifieds sections. There should be no more "banana" bumps without getting infractions.

I'd also like to say that it's really unnecessary to use the "Report a Post" function to tell the staff you've sold or "banana'd" your items. We clean the classifieds regularly so reporting the post just clutters up the admin section more than it needs to be.

TokyoSeven April 21st, 2011 12:07

Sold item Banana bumps are still occurring. If these do not decrease I will be increasing the ban time to 3 days.

This will be the only warning, please ensure you familiarize yourself with sale section rules.

I know players SHOULD read the rules but I know a huge percentage of the player base are not regular on ASC. I think it might be a good idea to make a quick post on the main page stating the Banana bump rule.

What people SHOULD do and ACTUALLY do are completely different things, Just saying this because I feel it'll make things easier not because there is an excuse to not read the rules.

but Darklen do you agree if people report others for banana bumping?

I personally hate people doing that because for one, you thought it was available but when reading the bottom fine line found otherwise.

I've been searching through the archives and sale sections for certain items lately, and the amount of people STILL doing this AND / OR removing the prices with "sold" or "gone" is pissing me off.

Perhaps a complete lock on their sales thread for a month ? Hurt them where you know they will feel it, their wallets.

So it is, guess everyone is fucked then.

HKGhost April 21st, 2011 14:05

It's very frustrating searching for items on ASC as everything is either sold without a banana, or it's at the end of the thread on page 3. People that can't follow simple rules for buying and selling shouldn't be doing it and that privilege should be taken away after XXX amount of infractions.

It as well as the forum rules have been posted for a long long time, there has been several infractions handed out since this was refreshed back in February, if people get enough points added up they lose access to the website for a week, then 2, then a month and so on.

I personally have said it more times then most here can count, READ THE RULES!!!!

If and when you get caught and your hands slapped, you only have yourself to blame.

Strelok April 21st, 2011 15:12

Curious, isn't it possible to make a 'Forum wide' PM to every active member? I think it'd be appropriate to submit a rules reminder message through PM's, people are more likely to open a PM rather than check on the rules board.

Could do the same for members just signing up directing them to the FAQ.
