Tactical Umbrella

Where can I get one?
Preferable in the tri-fold variety.

R.I.T.Z September 30th, 2015 17:30

A what?

Strelok September 30th, 2015 17:41

Same place you get Tactical Kilts and Magpul accessories.

AnthonyG September 30th, 2015 17:45

An umbrella? You know...

But in all seriousness. I'm curious if anyone makes a durable, heavy-duty, compact umbrella.

Every umbrella I've ever purchased quickly falls apart the first time it rains and is even the slightest bit windy.

8bitninja September 30th, 2015 17:49

You mean one of these?

There are some good umbrellas depending on your price point.
A 10-50 dollar one will most likely break prety quickly and you'll most likely (in the 50 range) just be buying a 10 dollar umbrella with a fancy brand name printed on the handle.
The euroscrhim trek is prety high end. They have a collapseable and fixed shaft. Many options actually I selected the top end one for ya. Put you around 70 euros plus shipping. Damn good umbrella tho if yer into that sort of thing.

Beauty,

Can't exactly shove a gortex jacket into a molle pouch or water bottle holder.
Was more interested in something for EDC/caught in the rain.

This should do as a starting point.

Hectic September 30th, 2015 22:56

Actually the goretex jackets pack up into their inside pocket. It's not super small but easily stuck into or clipped onto a back pack or bob.
How often you expecting rain that you wanna edc an umbrella?
Likely better off with some "disposeable" ponchos if it's for "just in case"
Tho I will say the more I look at the trek I may pic one up for the GF.

I carry an umbrella in my bag at all times, airsofting or otherwise. It fits in my side water bottle holder.

The one I have works, but is not sturdy enough to stand up to a mild wind.

What is that nonsense?
Is it a hipster-urban-gayboy forum?

Wear a goretex jacket and man the fuck up.

I used to get mine here
https://www.james-smith.co.uk/

They actually do make some more *ahem* violence-oriented umbrellas, but don't have them on the website.

OPSEC

Poncho that folds up into a small-ish pouch, covers down below your knees, unsnaps to house a ruck sack, will protect your weapon as well and spreads out into a tent or tarp. Comes in multicam.

I've had one for years and it works great. I'm not too big on fighting in it, I'd rather have like s Crye wind liner or something for that. But for hunkering down, protecting your gear, pure ease of use, or hiking in the rain, it's great.

Apparently these are the bees knees.
