I have two pairs of regulators right now and planned to use them whenever I got back to playing airsoft (leave them on my helmet at the range.) I haven't tested them too extensively for fog... Never heard of dishsoap before as an anti-fog treatment lol.
Another question. WHAT ARE THE NAME OF THESE WINGLOCK ADAPTERS!? http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...ike/342342.jpg I've been looking for weeks. Asked several different people/shops to no avail. |

After some detective work I found a base jump to use as a temp helmet until more Ballistics come onto the market or Crye starts making lids
that will fit my head. Pretty stoked about only having to wait two days; not fourteen weeks for this lol. Came home from a wedding this weekend to two packages on my doorstep. Waiting for the real goodies to show up. Night enforcer, Wilcox steel, Manta, ect. http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/IMG_0228.jpg http://i943.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/IMG_0226.jpg Going to re-purpose it as a climbing/atv helmet after. |
Two days? Brand new? Where?
|
Ken, the man has the ambition of a jack russel. When he wants something he finds a way to get it. Period. Nothing will stop him.
I know cause I'm the same way. It's a bad trait to have :p |
anyone seen this yet?
http://soldiersystems.net/blog1/wp-c...815-140032.jpg thoughts? I'm considering it because i do not want to wait a year for my opscore to be in stock, but im not sure what to use to setup my pvs14 to the wilcox one built into the helmet http://soldiersystems.net/2012/09/17...w-at-gss-gear/ |
Looks snazzy!
|
More expensive than the Basejump. Almost double.
Meh. |
I just emailed the company and they have stock in hand ready to sell however and I sadly quote "the issue we have is that the mount is ITAR controlled thus we will be unable to export, or sell to non American citizens, without an exception letter from the State Department."
anyone want to help me out? :) |
Hmmm ! Is it really that short cut on op-core base jump helmet ? I bought one for my boyfriend like 3 to 4 months ago and it took about 5 days by DHL express delivered to the front door.
I consider want one for myself as well, might to have to change my mind and look for alternative. Any suggestion ? Santa coming early this year from North pole, will post pic with complete NVG set up, next year will go to dual set up, One 14 is enough for now since I still want to go to DimSum regularly. |

For the guys running red + blue/green strobes, remember that red goes on the port side and blue/green goes on the starboard side as per aviation and marine convention. Otherwise it might get confusing for some of us lol.

this one? http://www.ebairsoft.com/goggle-swiv...el-p-5200.html looks exactly the same . |
I thought those clips are for attaching respirator units, rather than goggles.
As Knivesz said, they come with the helmets. |

They are great for these lo profile mesh half mask
Rigged mine up with some thin bungee type cords, very nice. |
I don't even think my base jump (real) came with the clips..

Only the reps* come with the clips unfortunately... I think they are too small for most goggle straps anyways, think ESS.
|
Mine didnt either, and OpsCore wants $59 for the O2 mask straps with clips:
http://www.ops-core.com/O2_Single_St...AST__P15C6.cfm |
I'm just going to use mine to hold on my mask*. I'll settle with the repro clips. (My OPSCore is real as well, did not come with clips.)
*Face, not eyes. |
Protec A-Bravo. Modded with repo ARC rails and NVG shroud.

Airsofter from New Jersey here. You guys have some pretty incredible brain buckets (going through this entire thread works wonders for procrastinating). How seemingly all of you can afford NODs and authentic Ops Core helmets is beyond me...
|
|
Quote:
not everyone can afford NODS and OPS-Core helmets.. just they guys who post in this thread ( and many of them can't actually "afford them" either) |
Quote:
All jokes aside though, this seems like a great forum! I thought I made alright money as an IT Tech but I could only dream of owning a pair of NODs. I'm going to have to take out a loan to keep up with you canucks. |
Buy a reliable car (or just don't own one).
Don't buy other things. Stay single women are expensive. Curb your drinks habits. Save your money. Some of these guys have been around for years and thus bought stuff slowly. Others haven't and have either splurged. Keep in mind the hardest part of getting an Ops Core (BJ atleast) isn't paying for it, but finding one in stock or for sale. |

get 1 then =D
|
Yea with Ops Core being so popular(and sold out). There is a market there for Fast style helmets. I love my ops core but If I didn't have it I would definitely be looking at the Team Wendy and Protec's.

Here is a pic of the new Combat Vehicle Crew (CVC) helmet that has just entered service the last few months;
http://i.imgur.com/9Ja81.jpg *Edit: Should be noted the mandible protection is removable, and I don't think I'll ever be using it as it's just a pain to wear a microphone with it on. |

Man, that sucks. I'd join the army JUST so that I could fire a gun with a good cheek wield and not have to worry about losing a tooth. And they go and take that away from the poor soldier.
On the bright side, you can say "just grab a JT mask. Not being able to get a cheek wield is more milsim. |

Well there is a thin impact foam liner between the pads and the shell, so I guess that fixes the "standoff" problem. These helmets are far and few in between right now and are part of a vehicle's kitout, not pers issue as we don't have enough...
About 60 people in the Regt who could be reasonably expected to drive or command an armoured vehicle right now, and like 8 helmets. |
In my unit they have been issued to personnel. But yeah I wouldn't even say a quarter of the unit has them(Armoured unit). One thing though that stand alone liner is rediculous looking.

They are in Gagetown.
The tank range is close to my house, the C1s were not very loud, you always knew they were shooting but they did not bother me. The C2s shake my house and wake me up in the morning...not looking forward to the next forever. |

I have a couple of questions in regards to the Fast helmets out there.
First of all, aside from the obvious differences of the holes in the helmet what is the difference between the Ballistic and PJ style Fast helmets? Are there any size/shape differences I should be aware of? I ask this because I will be picking up a helmet cover that is designed for the Ballistic style Fast helmet, and it is unclear weather it will fit on a PJ style helmet properly or not. Second, has anybody run a Bowman style headset with a Fast helmet here? Does the helmet "cooperate" with the headset? Or does the headset interfere with the helmet making things uncomfortable? And to make it clear, I am talking about airsoft replicas of the helmets, not the real versions. I'm afraid my addiction to this sport will drive me to get the real deal helmet just for the hell of it if somebody remarks about how great the real ones are... Thanks to any answers I can get in advance! |
Quote:
In any case, the Jump/Base (or PJ style) helmets have a different shaped non-removable shroud while the Carbon and Ballistic version have the removable VAS shroud. You may have trouble fitting your cover without modifications with this in mind. With that said, get the real one if possible. A base jump is about $250-300, while the quality replicas (from AirsoftDepot) are already $120-140. Resale value alone is worth the premium. If you must get a replica, skip the "basic/non-premium" version if you can. The finish and thickness of the premium version is far superior. You will hate yourself with the basic (cheaper) version. |
Also it is like fricking impossible to find a replica base jump for a head size of 7 1/2 or larger.... :(
|
Are you sure Kokanee? I'm pretty sure my head size is 7 1/2 and my replica BJ fits fine. Mine is the one from huang.
|
Well I have a size 7 7/8 head and no go by a long shot, the 7 1/2 comment is from talking to other people who have had fitment issues and that is where the problems seem to start. I am glad yours fits though! ;)
|
Ah, I hear ya. You're sort of having the opposite issue I have with repro BDU's, the smallest size is still too big for me. I sort of feel your frustration bud.

That's how it is on the original design. I suppose the illustrator opted to put them there because it helps with the composition. It makes it look more like a jolly roger I think :P |
not that awesome but its a start.http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...8BEF54A7D7.jpg
Emerson Basejump Custom Cover from an old CF medium cover. Need to add NVG Arm Posts for Boogie Regulators Comtacs( once i save a bit) No Velcro or glitzy shit. Keeping it simple and functional. I dont need somthing that weighs a tome to card arround all game |
|
Ugh my new helmet is in Edmonton!
Only teasers I have are that is has integrated comms and integrated eye protection! |
You got a K6-3?
|
|
That. Is. Awesome.
|
I kind of want Christmas vacation to be over just so I can try on my Russian tactical welding helmet ;)
|
I know how you feel, I finally got my MSA sordins working with the XTS2500 and cant wait to use em!
|
Well I finally went over the edge and decided to get an Ops Core Base Jump (real not repro). I was close to getting a Protec Bravo but patience paid off. Since it is multicam I am leaning towards getting a War Bungee instead of the First Spear cover I was set on, I'm also considering a TYR cover but I'm not sure. The wait is killing me and I still can't believe I'm getting one without the insane waiting period. I will post some pics once I have it.
Now I just have to start saving for nv! Who knows maybe by the time I have that money I can get a PSQ-20 DSNVG or maybe even a set of GPNVG's. (I can dream can't I?) :D |
I just discovered this awesome cup, it basically fits my headgear just like a bust would...
Meet Mr. Cup: http://i.imgur.com/MxtgW.jpg Nothing to fancy yet, though I plan to throw a laundry bag over it and get some paint pattern going on. |

Gosh those airframe covers are nice!! I was thinking of getting one of the FirstSpear covers for my lid when I want to go full Multicam...
Anyway, I took some nicer pics of my paint job... I think it looks pretty nice, but I've never done one of these before: http://i.imgur.com/YYVmb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/WetJY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Cp2Vu.jpg |
That paintjob is perfect! Agreed, love those first spear helmet covers.

Great looking bucket Karma. Nice paint job Cortex. Looks like the paint job on mine.
