Getting ready to move to Canada from Southern California...

Yeah definitely a big difference from the San Diego beaches to Vancouver... I need to know where I can play and what shops to go to if anyone can help I would be very happy (:

(ps first post here I was not sure where to put it)

I hope you like paying taxes

For gear in Vancouver hit up DS tactical. Not much airsoft stuff there these days but a good location for gear.

For where to play I think the locals are mostly on Facebook organizing games. When you get there track down one of these guys in the link below. Some at game sites or airsoft stores so they'll help you get dialed into the local scene.

Remember if you are planning on bringing your guns across the border you might run into issues, as our laws are quite different.

Your gear and accessories/mags/etc should be okay as long as none of them are ITAR items.

But as mentioned your guns may be an issue.
Ensure they all are firing above 366fps from Factory specs (if the factory does not show them as shooting above 366fps, CBSA might reject/seize)

There are several threads on ASC that cover a lot of this information, although a fair amount of it is in the AV sections, which you would need to make a trip up to the Vancouver area to meet with an AV rep to gain access in person.

That's for Rainy and his orange tip. It's much worse for the Cali folks now (and technically the orange tip is a rule for importing from outside the US). Cali had it about as bad as Portugal.

BloodSport June 6th, 2018 15:58

I think he was just trying to say "yay no more orange tip" as in you do not need one anymore, who cares about the laws down there unless you are heading there, but that is a different thread :P

RainyEyes June 6th, 2018 16:15

Yeah that's what I wanted to say... He can finally ditch those orange tips and grab those expensive flash hiders that are full metal full black.

I dare you to try and find an mp5 flash hider under $45. The stock ones by g&g or whatever that's full metal and latch on.

I have no idea if the same applies to mock silencers.

If I could give you any advice it would be to order all your parts, accessories, and Nick nacks from your stores now before you get price gouged by customs and Canadian shipping once you move to Canada. There are tons of odds and ends available from the US that are hard to find or not in stock at an affordable price here.

fields in vancovuer

if you are closer to the city of vancouver then i'd suggest airsofting at ambush.

bigfoot is farther out.

there is also panther but it's my least favourite place to go to.

there's a group on the sunshine coast.

a few in abbotsford.

when you get here, go to an airsoft or paintball store and talk to the people there. you'll get better leads and info.

rest assured you will have places to play when you move here. bring your rain gear. talk to a local shop from vancouver about shipping your gear. authorized importers typically have a way of doing to safely and painlessly.

shops i have dealt with and enjoyed
trigger airsoft
phoenix tactical
badlands

there are a few more. these ones are just familiar and close by for me.

=)
