Tokyo Marui G17 - HELP ME! :(

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to the forums, and I'm about to pick up a used Tokyo Marui G17.

Here's some pictures he has sent me
https://i.imgur.com/lbj3ZrW.jpg
https://i.imgur.com/xHdPfSH.jpg

And he sent me a video showing me the issue with it.
- https://youtu.be/xIzxv3N0KYQ (First video, he split them in half for some reason)
- https://youtu.be/OJtdZuFF54Q (Second video)

There seems to be an issue with the trigger bar and I need to replace it with this.
- http://www.evike.com/products/47184/

I'm not sure if he's trying to swindle me and sell me a broken glock or he's absolutely honest. Can anyone who is an owner confirm if he's telling the truth or not?

Thank you so much!

Why would you bother buying a broken gun? If you have any doubts whatsoever about the condition of the product, walk away. It's not like new TM G17's are hard to come by, so save yourself the headache.

Ugh maybe you're right, but he's selling it for 90 shipped. x.x Aren't new guns 150 + 40-50 dollars shipping since nobody sells them in NA?

It might be 90 shipped... but how much will it cost you in A) New parts... if you need them. B) Paying someone to fix it (if you don't know how)

You're right, cancelling the deal.

If I don't happen to find a TM, what's a good option? Are WE shit like everyone says it is?

I think WE glocks are a good gun. They are completely TM compatible so you can always easily get good upgrade parts. It's a smart choice for a beginner pistol or if you're on a budget.

The we are exactly what they are priced at, a mediocre full metal gun that take a fair amount of aftermarket parts. I have a g18c by we it's a decent gun. I threw an upgraded hop up in because the stock one could not apply hop otherwise it shot well. Shoots really well now but it's upgraded with a longer barrel and such so it's outdoor velocities.

Where is this guy with a tm g17 for 90 bucks? I'll pay for that.

Lol damn beat me to it.

Parts are so easily found and if it's broken there are people who would love it for parts.

$90 is super steep though.

The mag alone is $59.99 at TA anyways, LOL. ($35-40 used) I guess $70-80 be more appropriate. It's also the non-tinted lower, which retails for $249.95 here in Toronto;

But yeah, sure you can save money, but if you don't know what your doing your probably better off buying a brand new gun.

WE glocks are fine, but if you want to drop $$ and invest into a Godly build after spending $800 ontop; then Marui is the way to go;

If you want a simple Glock, that'll do the job after you change the bucking, get a WE.

The guy I found was on reddit, and the only thing that is wrong with it is the trigger bar apparently. The repair is like 10 dollars.

He also mentions to purchase a new slide.

Broken guns, especially gbbp, once one thing breaks usually it's met the end if their life so the rest of the gun and parts are due for an upgrade. If it's just the trigger bar (so they claim) is broken who knows what else is broke.

Tm's lnib or bnib are $200+ CAD but those are new, untouched, and don't have someone telling you to fix it for them. If it's such an easy fix WHY DONT YOU DO IT?

I've found a better gun elsewhere for 150, but this would've been the route I've taken. I just wanted to consult with some owners here for any advice before I pulled the trigger.

No need to get so hostile.

Sorry I didn't mean "why don't you fix it" to you, that was directed to the seller. Never made sense for them to say "it's an easy and quick fix" because if it's so easy maybe they could do it?

Sounds too good to be true. Anyway, buyer beware. Up to you.
