Updates!!
Thanks to a hacksaw and a welder, I introduce... real Enfield working trigger! http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00271.jpg The magazine release is real too, but non-functional and welded in place. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00275.jpg No room in there for a full magazine! The mag is chopped down and waiting for final fitment next week. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00272.jpg I wish you all could see the ingenious method I used to have the trigger working properly. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00273.jpg The hollowed out and chopped magazine: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00274.jpg Dis-assembly step 1, view from the side. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00276.jpg Remove the stick magazine which is holding the metal clip in place: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00277.jpg Remove the metal clip, and the rear upper wood slides out. From there the entire receiver and barrel assembly slides out the back. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00278.jpg Current state (original Enfield sling) http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00270.jpg Tested the gun last weekend, shoots fairly accurate and hard to 50 feet or so. I am pretty happy with the way it shoots. Stay tuned! |
You sir, do very impressive work. Thanks for the pictorials!
|
Very nice dude!
The 1:6 justs adds a certain... je ne know what... Good work for sure. |
Refinished the stock with a bit of oil, it was very faded in spots:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00327.jpg Stock is attached to a nut welded to a plate bolted in place and held in place by a thing welded to the magazine welded to the trigger guard. LOL: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00330.jpg Tool for attaching the stock: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00329.jpg Real Enfield safety attached (non-functional): http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00328.jpg Magazine welded up and painted: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00326.jpg Current status: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...f/DSC00325.jpg - Need to fabricate the receiver "cover" to hide the parts connecting the stock. - Need to fabricate a new bolt (Devcon didn't work) or find a way to attach the real steel bolt - Need to grease and lube the goods that make it work - Need to pin/hold down the barrel tighter Then she's done! I will get geared up and take some "action" shots soon. That will make Jerry shake in his bloody boots! |
Very impressive so far. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
|

Continueing Baker_Jeff's project
I was able to make and design the stock to reciever ring. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/SDC10255.jpg Made from 1 3/4 exshaust piping. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/SDC10256.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/SDC10257.jpg http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/SDC10259.jpg When I get home (Back to Petawawa, Ontario), I'm going to weld your end bracket to my reiever ring. And I'm thinking of upgrading her to a VSR. http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...9/SDC10260.jpg |
Nice!!! I'm so happy you made progress with her already! Can't wait to see her done. :)

Nice purchase Arnold. Hopefully when and if you have Op Drug Bust 2, I'll get to see it myself. Too bad you're not close to me. I have a real steel Lee Enfield you could use as a guide for the parts you need to make...
