You would be surprised by the amount of guys running Gen.3 NODs now - so having an IR strobe can be a good idea...

I just got my new manta IR strobe...
Made a lanyard for it so I don't loose such a pricey piece http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN3702.jpg http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN3703.jpg http://i1229.photobucket.com/albums/...r/DSCN3704.jpg |
mighty fine bucket - thumbs up :)

Wey, What color paints did you use for that helmet? Would you even mind doing a quick How to?

Awesome paint job Taliban. I soo want to do that to mine now.

Thanks ;)
The way I did it was: 1) Made some digital shapes in Illustrator. 2) Printed out the shapes and spayed-glued each one (seven in total) to a thin card-stock (I used a couple old file-folders). 3) I then cut out each shape with a ruler and sharp xacto knife. 4) I was left with seven individual digital shape "cards" - this lets you hold up a different pattern and spray without worry. 5) Taped off the veclro that was already on the helmet and sprayed a good base coat of Krylon tan. 6) First I sprayed a random layer of digital shapes in Krylon brown - then dusted over that with a light mist of Krylon tan. 7) Then I sprayed a second final layer of digital shapes in Krylon brown - then dusted over that as well with a light mist of Krylon tan. 8) After everything was dry, I removed the tape on the velcro and gave it a light mist of Krylon tan - then sprayed random digital shapes onto the velcro with Krylon tan. I recommend to practice with your stencils first before using them on your helmet. I found it was best to hold the spray can a medium-to-far distance for the best results. I have some tan adhesive velcro on order to replace the black velcro on the helmet now - but I am like how it turned out ;) |
Nice helmet! Thanks for the run down on the how to. I just did mine up but not really feeling it. I think I'll give the digital look a shot. I know you don't care for the Base Jump but it is wayyy better than the Protec, especially with the NV's.
Any who. Here it is: http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...5-02212955.jpg |
I have nothing against the Base Jump - I will admit it is a much better helmet than a Protec ;)
But I would rather save the money for a FAST Carbon Helmet. Definitely give the digital camo a try - would look awesome on your helmet :) |

What kind of NVGs are you runnin? |
Yeah, I'll give it the digital a shot and post it up.
The NV is a D-300 Gen2+ mil-spec. The best Gen2 out there, unless it's a 2HP. Got it from Double Tap Tactical. |

What brand is the NV? |
