eHobby Asia

I'm looking into ordering some gear from eHobby and I do realize that most of the products are clones and that the shipping is horrendous but what I would like to know is about the Canadian standards for duties. I have read about people getting charged for double what they paid at the post office and how some companies ship their parcels under the title gift and so on. This is my first time ordering airsoft gear online, (I'm not buying restricted items, i did read that thread) I usually try to go local and support the little guy but in this case it would definitely be cheaper. SO, will I get bagged for duty and customs ? Or is eHobby good at what they do?

Well.. When i ordered my vest from airsoftgi, my parcel had to be detoured to customs, and it took a day to process it there. When i went to pick up my parcel from the post office, i got smacked with an extra $46.79. but.. That was because airsoftgi sent it with UPS, so i guess the extra paper was because they needed to pay the UPS guy? It was something like that. So if i had known that that would've been the case, i wouldnt have ordered it from over the border. But what can you do?

For overseas, i think the only way it can have a customs cost is if it is checked by customs and the amount of time it takes for the customs agents to process the package? I have not ordered from overseas yet, but me and my mate are making a big group order to EBairsoft.com, so i guess ill see what i get smacked with when that package will get here. Hope that helped a little bit.

Duty has nothing to do with the seller.

Never been hit with duty from Ehobby in all the years I've dealt with them. GST and CBSA handling ($5) sometimes (very rare, can't remember the last time), but usually I just go to my local post office, sign for the parcel and take it home. Average shipping time is about 2-4 weeks, longer around the holidays. If it's just gear, no reason for customs to do anything but look at it and figure out if they want you to pay GST or not.

Ehobbyasia ships via express mail, so the custom fees are hit or miss. Personally, I've never (knock on wood) paid any duty fees. But like I said...It's hit or miss

You, my friend, got raped by UPS like myself and many others. UPS is famous around here for charging horendous duty fees and they should simply go to hell, but then again, no one beats their online tracking system.

Yeah That's what i figured. Im definitely NOT ordering anything else from airsoftgi.
Their tracking system is simply the best, yes. But im upset with the fact my parcel went to Florida before being tossed over to New York, then to Washington and up to Peace River.. I guess my package just wanted to see ALL of the united states. Jesus i was like WTF when i saw it had went to Florida.

Has anyone experienced ordering from EBAIRSOFT.COM? Im kinda getting a bad vibe from even just looking at my shopping cart on their site.. It just seams so sketchy for the low prices AND free shipping..

I ordered via Ehobby once with EMS and they shipped with invoice price lowered for all items. I paid no duty/tax.

WTF?! That's discouraging. After my Evike fiasco I split what I needed between Airsoft GI and WGC shop. I guess I better have a peek and see what state it is in...

I'v been hit with custom taxes from ehobbyasia twice now but it was always for physically big packages (and values over 400$). ehobbyasia sometimes also reduces the declared value of the goods.

In Quebec, I had to pay 11-12% of the declared value + some small fees for the handling of the taxation process.

Well my order arrived today.
Everything was there as ordered.
As I stated before it was placed the afternoon of the 21st, shipped on the 22nd, and arrived today the 29th.
Its was a decent order at $467cnd and got hit with a duty fee of $30.
The paper work did show lower prices same as Strikefreedom had said.

Did you have it shipped EMS or regular?
