GBBR Costs

I am planning on getting a WE SCAR.

I understand that the costs of maintaining a GBBR are much higher then that of an AEG, and I am prepared for that.

However, if someone could outline the specifics of these costs, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

if your gonna skirmish here's the breakdown.
WE SCAR $650 for clear/ $950 for normal
**Propane Magazine $40 per you probably need 6
**CO2 Magazine $52 per if you want winter skirmish (CO2 Capsule are about $1-2 each depends on quantity you purchase, I believe you could buy like 500 for 250 or so)
**Lubrication, silicon oil (for maintaining mags)and grease (grease is better cause it stays longer without making a mess)
**NPAS, RA-Tech sells em for like $50 shipped, helps alot to change fps cause its 450 on Propane, 500 on CO2
**Spare parts: don't ask me what you need, I don't know much about WE, I would say the hinge plate is needed.
good luck

orr the following platforms:

Magna:
Pros: After Market are limitless, you can build one from scratch which I did.
Cons: Inefficicency and cheap parts break.

WE:
Pros: Better efficicency, looks like more choices in the future
Cons: like WE before, parts still break, low QC

TK:
Pros: Looks to be the best in the market so far, AEG Parts
Cons: no aftermarket support, least popular currently (its WE and Magna right now)

VFC:
Pros: according to reports, based on Magna design without its flaws, AEG Parts
Cons: not release, propertiary parts (not sure how much is Magna compatable)

Escort:
Pros: No cool down, best use for gaming, AEG parts
Cons: Bulking gas cylinder, rare, uses HPA

Well I'm looking to spend >$1000 total, so the cansoft WE SCAR is about the most expensive I can afford right now.

I could save, but Ive waited long enough for a GBBR.

Are any of the other ones you mentioned in my price range? (Once AVed of course)

I haven't seen a single one of these yet, and WE are awesome little GBBRs.

Im quite excited to get one.

Once I'm AVed, a metal lower receiver is available, right?

Or am I not allowed to ask that?

i read about 20-30 pages out of 42 and don't remeber a gun breaking to full meltdown and the first 500 made had a small problem that was fixed for free

WE Scar's lowers are plastic color tan or black like the RS versions. The Cansoft Scars lowers are clear. The only thing that hurts are the mags as they can range from $50-70 each after the purchase of the gun. If you planning to run Co2 mags I would get the renforced butt stock plate because they are prone to crack from the recoil. If you have a princess auto by you, They have o-ring kits from $5-19 that have tiny o-rings that work for the magazine fill valves. I just got my KJW M4 and its pretty good out of the box but the lower is tinted. The Kjw mags are plastic but they are alot thicker and hold more gas then the WE's.

A metal lower is probably available.... eventually..... You just have to wait or order from someone who does custom orders.

Problem is that there's also the money factor too.

EDIT: (Clarity) For example, if you wanted it, you could probably find a JAE M14, or some Classic Airsoft (I'm talking like Escort and Sun Project) however, it's rare, and therefore expensive (it's also supposedly out of production too). I don't know the price but probably around the PTW price range maybe even more. Time (waiting for one top pop up or contacting a guy who does custom orders) and money (most likely lots of it) are required and you can have anything you want. Realistically though you probably don't have $10,000 to drop on a toy that shoots plastic BB's so that's really the only thing that inhibits you from getting whatever you want.

I'd budget probably around $200-300 for a metal body. I'm taking this approximation from AEG metal body prices so hopefully they translate to around the same price. However I wouldn't be surprised if it's a bit more at the start since there probably aren't very many in Canada (it should drop in price a bit once the market gets saturated with more of them).

PS: I'm not a business/economics student but it makes sense if you use logic and think about supply demand curves.

I own a jae m14 with tm internals and truthfully spent alot of cash to make it work the way i wanted it to . From what i heard there discontinued but you can still find a few floating around in varoius stores shelves but they are getting rarer.

I don't see why a GBBR would cost more to maintain then a AEG. I actually have found it to be the other way around.

technology is still recent not perfect yet, so only a few companies make replacement/upgrade parts....

less competition + high demand = high prices ....
