Why would you think it is? Apparently one shot was fired so that should clear it up that it's real?

Well it does say a shot was fired. I do hope people are smart enough to tell the difference between a REAL gun shot vs a airsoft gun "shot".

doesn't mean anything... ppl can say whatever they like to manipulate the media....just like the balloon boy incident..

where in the story does it talk about airsoft? how could it possibly be related to airsoft?

well there might be a possibility that the fired " gun" is a replica or something similar, which might draw the government's attention on airsoft as a sport..
