Is not the rule in japan, over 1 joule = firearm? I can't see it being much different in china where they aren't even allowed to own replicas.

FYI, youtube is banned in china.

My JG GBBR M4s should have been here if not becuase of this new china 60th national day.

All my china suppliers stay low now, not sell or ship any single airsoft parts, scopes, gears. The airsoft forum, groups are quite too, no talking in MSN or QQ any airsoft related topic, not even the code names for airsof guns( dogs , which pronounces the same as gun in chinese ).

Along with freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, Freedom of Press, Freedom of Mobility,

But clearly the people have ways of getting around all that... along with ways to get around the restriction on manufacture and export of airsoft guns.

it's a big country.. and the state can't watch everyone.. try as they may

What does that matter? My point is that it couldn't really hurt anyone at 1.2 Joules (if that's what it really is, I doubt it), my AUG is more dangerous.

Oh not saying it dangerous, but "criminal organization turning airsoft guns into real guns" could be airsofters who want to play 400 fps. (i'm not saying this case is that I'm just saying that this is probably how they would describe airsofters with over limit guns)

80 m/s, some of them are airguns, some are replicas they said....
basically they said "if someone gets shot in the eye they'll die"....
this shit has been going on since I was a kid in china... don't pay attention to it...
they said that PPK pistol only needed slight modifications as well to become a live firearm....
I call shinanigans.

That more easy make new gun

For kill human same true firearm whit airgun you need big bore ammo 9mm and more 700 fps before that speed is dangerous and maybe can kill but is not letal weapon. Not possible modify Airsoft aeg for make same firearm.........Canadian tire plastic bow is really more dangerous )))

Although this all seems more of the same, it is interesting to note the Real Sword AKs are made of forged, milled, real steel and blued, just like real AKs. I'm no gunsmith, but I would assume this is a lot closer to being an acceptable base for conversion than anything we've previously seen. Its really only a matter of time before airsofters press the limits of realism to the point of total replica. I have to wonder then if that sort of realism will eventually add legitmacy to the fear mongering noted in this news story.

We'll get the governments attention eventually if we keep enjoying ourselves and then they'll have to give us some specific rules we can (hopefully) work with.

I would think it would be easier to make a GBB M4 into a functional gun by replacing the stock bolt carrier with a real one, the stock barrel with a real one and install a lower parts kit, if that's even necessary. Especially if the carriers are 1:1 size, it would be real easy. It only has to fire 1 round to put the user in a world of trouble.

In Canada, none of those parts is controlled at all, you only need money to buy them.

And if that's possible to do, that would render that GBB prohibited instantly, despitre the facts of it's performance or that it's an airsoft gun. It has happened already south of the border.

You mean it'll fire one round and then blow up....
you can probably do it with a spring loaded nail inside a big PVC pipe, and then stuff a bullet surrounded by some tissue paper in there....
then get PVC pipes banned.

AR bolt carrier fits WA/AGM/G&P with little modification (it was tested on some forum). Now if it can actually fire a round, i have no idea and doubt it.

The law reads something like "can be adapted to fire ammunition". Anything can be made to do that, but the GBB in question is a firearm already under law, a pipe isn't. That puts into a whole different league.
