Alot of people on here tell the minors that they should go and view games, alot of the fields Ive been to for airsoft and P. Ball are really hard view the games from lobbies and such.

So the idea is this, if the map is like crossfire or some such like it then there will be locations for folks to be able to watch from and actually see the games. Of course you would have to put something over the windows for protection. But I remember when I was younger I would have killed to be able to watch a full out game like one that map would offer.

Like I said I dont know what every one else thinks but I really do think that it would help new players and minors alike.
Could be a great idea, but it would definitely take out of the field (if I understand what you mean).

I have found a location, and it looks large enough for the crossfire project. We would only have one field/mini-village to play in though (just enough for that) so we're still thinking about it. The city is helping us out with locations, and that one could definitely be it. I'll let you guys know more as it comes.

if you're going to take on a project like this it would likely be worth while to make sure you have room to expand. build the one for now but dont back yourself into a corner as a "one hit wonder" field where people get bored playing the same thing everytime.

That's a very easy thing to say, but a good, strategic location of that size is almost impossible to find. The one I found is already pretty big... and even though we will only (probably) have one field, it will be pretty large and well polished. There will be a 3-5 lane shooting range as well... all this, from the current size of the location.

The most important part of the business is that it is, above all, very accessible (therefore, in the heart of Montreal and its surroundings). That's a main objective. We could get a huge part of land outside of Montreal (probably for cheaper too), but then we become "just another paintball complex".

Then again, the location is definitely not settled yet. The city is reviewing the request and they're optimistic about it. But if they refuse it (for whatever reason), I'll keep looking around, hopefully for something even bigger.

Thanks for your input!

My friends and I are interested in getting into airsoft (we're all 20ish) and this thread hasn't had any activity since 2009! I'm going to assume this isn't happening (can't find it) but does anyone have any word?

From the very bowels of Hell it spilled forth, dripping with ichor and rancid flesh it beckoned to the living. "BEHOLD," It rasped, it's horrid teeth chattering like a thousand knives carved in ancient bone, "AND FEAR, YE MORTAL FILTH. I HAVE ARISEN TO WASTE YOUR TIME."
It's voice thundered over the forums like a war drum. Every awful syllable grated on the minds of it's victims like grinding, clattering stone.

People if you wash your gear when you get home paint will come out 95% of the time.

As for keeping the place clean of it. Your not going to get it all. How ever you will need to have the staff clean it down every night. Next step is drainage. Sure fields wash their indoor fields down. How ever when you use gravel or anything like that it soaks up the water and paint thus resulting in soup. You need to have a drainage system ( possibly a grate) that has a slanted floor under it for water and paint to go somewhere and not be stagnet.
Fans are also key. With everything being damp you need airflow to avoid mould. Iv been playing paintball a long time and thats key when it comes to indoor fields.

So are saying that from all the activity on the forums, got only found this 5-6 years old thread that corresponded to "an easy way to get into Airsoft"? Seriously?

First, where are you from? I'll assume around Montreal because the OP was about a game in Montréal; (if not, that's even funnier)

Second, take look carefully in the forums section and there's a section just for "quebec" games and events...

That's how I read it too.

The easy way into airsoft is to purchase or lease a large property, secure the various municipal or local permissions and inspections, obtain insurance, run power and water to the spot, locate materials and construct a CQB city with props and lighting etc., build a lunch counter/kitchen area to prepare and sell snacks and beverages, add plumbing and toilets, then get some wholesale BBs, gear, accessories and a bunch of rental AEGs, find goggles, masks, and so on, plan out some scenarios and before you know it you're playing airsoft with your buddies.

It's how everyone on this site came to play airsoft. It's a completely normal and naturl process.

Don't forget if you charge more than 20$ a head for the entire day you are ripping everyone off and you will be stoned in the town square.
