Camouflage: How important is it?

I have been playing CoD:MW lately and I love the idea of digital or red tiger on an airsoft gun. The only problem with having a red gun would be the obvious lack of camouflage. Is camo really that important in big airsoft games?

P.S. I'm no sniper. The gun that I would end up painting would be an assault rifle.

If you want to paint your AEG you don't have to go all out an make stencils, etc an do a digital pattern. Just go over it with a can of tan krylon spray paint. If you wanna still do a camo pattern, use some tan, od an brown paint. Lots of examples in the painted gun thread and also avail on google, etc.

May I inquire as to why you would paint a gun with red tiger stripes? I can see it being used by field owners rental guns, but other than that, it doesn't seem very practical.
However as stated already, many ways of painting a gun into a camo style is fairly easy, theres (from what I recall) even some tutorials on youtube.

Practically speaking, red isn't found much in green and tan areas. Sure, flowers and such...

Ultimately, use at your own discretion. I think that having an all pink shotgun would be awesome. I've seen a Hello Kitty Glock, and I laughed... until later in the day she killed me with it. :|

I've seen a Hello Kitty P90 and bright pink Spetsnaz AK.

Camoflague really doesn't make all that much of a difference unless it matches your BDU and current surroundings. Red Tiger or Blue Tiger camoflague is probably the worst pattern that you could paint on. OD goes with most conditions, but excels in none.

I know it won't hide me all that great. The reason I would do it is because it would look pretty BA lol. That's why I'm asking if regular 'infantry' type players hide much or need camouflage.

It depends where you play, I know most people that play in forest fields, tend to take refuge putting their camo to work in some shrubbery. However most indoor players on the other hand, are usually taking part in some good 'ol CQC, and camo isn't their prime objective, unless they wanna look pretty. lol

Thanks.
Now that I think about it, red tiger wold probably look stupid on a gun in real life unless done perfectly, and I have never used a paintgun in my life.

it is field dependent- in the bush camo is a must but in our village it wont do you a lick of good as at those ranges you are going to be spotted anyway

easiest way to make a camo pattern is go find some tree's with fallen leaves and branches. Spray the colour you want the branches or whatever to be ( brown? ). Then place the branches and leaves overtop the area's you want to have in (brown?) and proceed to spray pain in the colour that is most common to the area ( green? ).

That might give you a pattern more natural.

As for COD:MW Red-tiger-stripe, paint black, cut stencil out of paper to fit your pattern, then proceed to spray on red for the red stripes, or vice versa.

edit: haha never answered the question on camo.... Uuhh sure - it looks cool i guess, but you need to play the part. If you intend to do it, gotta do everything. ( Camo gun, but your bright red/pink? Lol )

Someone on ASC posted up a blue and red tiger stripe gun inspired by COD4, pretty much every comment was either "why?" or "you're an idiot."

putting all practicality aside, I think that red/blue tiger would look pretty sick. bring BACK that practicality, the red/blue tiger is kinda useless. the way I see it is just do it if you don't bother getting seen easily.

i do recall seeing blue/black/white camo.... i think its for tundra/winter? ( or was it urban?) Maybe blue/black could work there.... but.....

Oh - and talking about being seen, i dont suppose our camo-asking friend has seen the hello-kitty p90 yet? so anything's possible.
