Would Mag Pouches Fit On A Belt

Hey, I'm thinking of picking up some mid caps for my AK-47. I need something to hold the extra mags and have found several pouches for molle vests. As of now, I'd rather not have to where a vest but I do have a heavy duty belt laying around. my question is, could I use pouches meant for molle vests on a belt? From what I've read about the straps for molle gear, it appears that it would work but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks

It's a pretty wide belt so that won't be a problem. thanks for the help!
