Want to TTAC

How lucky to live in T O where the airsoft recources are HUGE.

I'm interested in joining TTAC in the spring, which by then I'll have geared up.
Leaves me asking what I'd need.

I think the fps is maxed at TTAC but I don't know to what and no internal mods.

If I purchase let's say a Glock with slide upgrades ,pressure valve upgrade, can i use it there? Got smallish hands so Glocks are pretty comfortable.

Is A stock JG MP 5 ,too much power for TTAC? I like the look of the G&G UMG

Really am asking what I'm looking for and where I should start.

Protective gear like a helmet, face shield, goggles and body armour, vest holster, not looking to get loaded up like a pack mule as I'll have a hard enough time running away anyway.
Also am not rich so looking for solid reliability.
Don't mind fiddling with mechanics either but don't want to purchase an item that will be great as soon as I add this..put that in etc.

Looking forward to the TTAC Airsoft convention in February

Thanks for the help

A JG may be a bit hot for indoor out of the box, best to see if you can get it chrono'd beforehand. You don't necessarily need both an AEG and GBB. I've actually used a GBB for most of the night and did well. Use what you have and adapt.

As for gear, a good paintball mask will do well enough to protect your eyes and face. Gloves are strongly recommended as well. Just grab a pair of Mechanix gloves from Marks Work Warehouse or someplace similar. Keep in mind that we play with no mercy rules so don't be surprised when someone engages you from just a few feet away. Long sleeves should be the norm unless it's unbearably hot during the summer months. Expect to take home a couple of bleeders if you don't cover up.

Try and pick up some additional mags as well if you haven't already. Everyone will hear you coming with a hi-cap shaking like a maraca. Plus reloads in a firefight add to the realism factor.

All you NEED for TTAC is paintball goggles and $40 ($20 rental and $20 to play).

As for gear there is limits.

MAX FPS with 0.2's is 350. This is a limit, not a goal.

You don't need a helmet/face shield, the helmet will cause you to flag corners and I've never seen anyone use a face shield at an event to date. :|

Just come with money and you can rent from Brian, I recommend coming SOONER rather than later as his events have been slowly dwindling from two matches a week to one... Show up and give TTAC a new player!

The other reason to come is to see what we use, and to ask questions about the sport. You might plan for one thing and then find it completely impractical in use. A lot of people who come to TTAC play in hoodies and use them as a mag pouch.

There is a game on Friday, come.

A note, Brian has posted he will not allow highcaps, Real cap load only, that's 30 rounds. So you can use a low cap and just load it short at 34 so they feed 30.

Thanks for the replies.

I am really more interested in a nice accurate pistol, just didn't want to be a one gun toting fool in a high cap AEG fight.

Saw the schedule up for TTAC and I will have both Fri and Sun night free so hopefully you'll see me a lot in a while. Tried to get to TTAC last Sun to get AV but ran out of time, Went to another place but do really regret not having the opportunity to talk to players, missed the CAPS as well.

I hope things will stay the same but I don't see myself available until at least March.

The TTAC3 website is not very accurate, look in the Ontario games listing on ASC for accurate dates.

http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=73656 this is January's, for instance.

Pistol only is massive fun at TTAC3, and for most purpose it is more than enough to hit something across where you can see. Invest in a nice GBB and you can shoot CAPS too...

TTAC Fridays are tons'o'fun.

Get a facemask/goggles (yes, most people use facemasks...your dentist will approve).

Outside of that they have everything you need. You can rent a Glock or an MP5 ($20 each) to try them both out. Lots of people use pistols only.

Looks like

Everyone has mentioned the important stuff

all you need to participate at TTAC3 is Goggles ( full face protection recommended, paintball face mask is fine )

a pistol.. that shoots less than 350 fps .. and 2 mags ( thoug there are a couple of guys who make due with one mag)

you do not have to "gear up" before coming out.. some of our best shooters are running a pistol and 2 mags .. goggles and a hoodie.. Gear does not make the man.

You will of course eventually get more stuff but we can help you and mentor you so that you don't buy useless gear.

Come on out.. and get started

That is very true, the first time I started playing was only in jeans and black turtleneck sweater and where did my mags go? In my pocket, did anybody ridicule me for it? Nope. Did I have fun? Yes, I had a lot of fun and nobody treated me like an outsider.

A game is coming up this Friday 9th I envy you being in Tdot, I have to drive about 25-30 mins to get there and then hope nobody took all the parking.

NUMBER ONE TIP

Don't forget gloves!

I don't mind shots on my arms, legs or head but getting hit in the fingernail that hurt but with good gloves on you should be good.
