I have an MP40 that dosen't use shells (thank goodness), but as for WW2 rifles, Marushin likes to keep 'em as close to the real thing as they can.

Anyways, off topic here, . . . Get verified kids and play safe!

haha after searching for so long i finally found it....someone with an TM M1A1 Thompson....now here's my next problem....he's also go a TM M14!

He'll give me the M14 for $680 CND taxes included, which i could convert into an M1 Garand.....Or $550 CND for the Thompson.....which should i go for?

As far as ive heard and read both are great solid AEGs, but now i need someone to help sway my decision in the right direction....PLEASE Help

Thompsons are pretty, but an TM M14 is the best AEG on the market right now I my opinion. The Ver. 7 mechbox is bullet proof, they have great range and accuracy. Get the M14, then save up again for the Tommy. As of this week, I have both.. but the M14 is my main rifle.. you won't be dissapointed.

Do you know if it can be upgraded to M1 Garand even if its the OD version M14, and not the wood?

I'm not quite sure that's the case. The occasionally report of cracked v7 would seem to suggest a durability rating somewhere between v2 and v3.

Both the OD and wood version of the TM M14 are designed the same, only difference is colour. What you can put on one, you can put on the other. So, the answer is yes.

Fair enough, I haven't heard of any of them cracking.. but you've been around longer than I have. Just the same, with some metal bushings, an air nozzle and a tight bore barrel.. they can be a real nail driver. My TM M14 socom saw thousands of rounds this summer and never skipped a beat. Most reliable AEG I've ever had.

but the Marushin M1 Garand is gas blowback, and not really reliable in a skirmish....i believe is about two En-Bloc clips before u have to fill up the tank again...not to mention having to quickly pick up the clips as they eject....no matter how cool it is

Plus no PING!

Apparently if you use the metal magazines there is a ping.

even so, the M14 will perform better on the field than a Marushin M1

I would say that it is a total conversion... therefore, COMPLETELY different gun. With shortened mags and a done up stock, better yet, a wooden stock... different gun.

Cmon... look at those beautiful babies.... less a gun, more a masterpiece!
