D-boy product warning

Hey all,

I'm not sure if anyone cares given they probably wear gloves while playing or just paint their guns but:

http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forum...owtopic=152994

Essentially says D-boys products are found to have problematic amounts of Lead and Chromium-6 in them. I know, not a big deal seeing as we're not eating em (though we've been known to drool a little), but if your working on metal bodies and such, just be careful of the scrapings and such.

Cheers,

Smitico

Sorry if this a repost

Oh crap......
Thanks for the heads up bro. I know that alot of thier metal parts break / strip really easily (including the substandard quality screws), which indicated to me that their metal quality was very low, even when compaired to most of the "pot" metals that are used in airsoft, but this explains a crap load more.
(Charging extra for working on D-Boys from now on....lol, danger pay)

They may be using lead in their bodies and parts (some portions of the metal makeup may be lead) and the paint / finish as well (remember all those toy recalls from lead?)

Really, unless you ingest it or are soaking your hands in fresh liquid lead based paint, nothing is going to happen to you.

You're probably ingesting more lead from eating sushi like tuna than you would be from handling an AEG.

BTW: in the Arnies thread, it states that Tokyo Marui are under the same restriction (must change manufacturing process or they won't be allowed to export to other countries). It's likely there are more TM AEG's out there than Dboys.

Crap, I had skimmed through the arnies thread but didn't concentrate on the TM bit (even though more people have em). Guess I got caught in the whole Japan versus ACM stuff thinking that the TM stuff wasn't going to be an issue.

Lol

Funny shit really... Should I charge my boss an extra when I'm machining C12L14? (that's carbon steel with lead in)

Seriously people need to calm down with all the "bad for your health" thingie.

maybe if you have a lead tightbore inner barrel, the bb's will pick up lead as they travel and then u shoot someone and they get lead in their skin?

Everyone stop licking your receivers! Alot of stuff from that part of the world seem to contain unacceptable amount of lead.

Check out the fur lined change purse at the bottem, lol
