Welcome to airsoft Mia. Unfortunately I have only seen a couple of women playing airsoft. We definitely need more like you.

Learning hand signals is another skill that becomes handy in airsoft. I attend TTAC3 in Toronto and we use hand signals all the time. That way, the enemy has no idea what your actions will be.

Also, if you plan on buying anything from overseas such as gear and accessories, use paypal. It will save you a lot of headaches. Just learned that lesson the hard way. There are lots of deals on eHobby as well. Here is a link to one of the pages:

Enjoy!

in the 4 years I have been on asc I have NEVER seen an 18 year old girl come on here with a full profile of her hobbies and a pretty profile saying "hai guiz, can I play too?"

The women I've met playing, 90% started with their boyfriends/husbands and the other few are subtle and cautious about saying they're female cause every nerd with an airsoft gun will trip over themselves to talk to her.

this thread is a good example.

Oh and I've also never seen said girls put their pic in their avatar.

Have fun guys!

well i guess im different then, i started because a frined got me interested when he started playing, i was skeptical at first cause i am a girl, but if i can to boxing ( im in the course at my school) which it a "guys" sport, then i can do this. also, every nerd with a guy might trip over themself to talk to me, but that dosent meen i will talk to them.. no offence to anyone. and as for the pic, i couldent find a better one then i liked so i just put one of my old pics up from last year.. i dont look like that much anymore..

You couldn't have put it better dude. Usually a noob comes in, and people are jumping in to tear them a new asshole. The perfect example was "Lindsay" (whatever 'her' name was) who joined a couple of weeks ago. Her first post stating "Can you tell me X? I know the info is here, but I just don't feel like reading", and the thread quickly became 10 pages of people gushing over her (led by Ronan, who doubled his post count that day ), spoonfeeding her info, etc. Had this same noob been male or had undisclosed gender, people would have been hunting the said noob down with torches and pitchforks.

However, I will say that girl or not, Mia did things the right way. She joined, read, got info, did research, etc BEFORE posting and asking questions. By the time she asked, she already had a good foundation and her questions had merit. If every noob started like that, there would be little flaming going on in this forum. To me, that's what impresses me the most. She took the time to do research, read, etc before posting. I am impressed still.

And I know I don't need to trip over anything to talk to women. I play in a band. They usually trip over themselves to talk to me.

thanks i appreciate it, and idk about the band thing..sure bands are kool, but it all depends on how you play:P and i did see what Linzy did, that was not really smart of her.. you don't just buy a car and then ask how to drive, you know, u have to learn first. its common sense.

Indeed they do! That or the singer.

Say hello to Crunchmeister, bassist and lead vocals for Society's Sorrow.

But really, I'm not as 'easy' as I used to be back in the day. I've had many-a-chance to have some fun after shows, and still haven't jumped on it...

And technically, I'm a guitarist. Been playing guitar for 20 years. I jsut play bass in my band because we couldn't find someone else with the right style and sound.

It's metal, but not sure exactly how it could be categorized. Takes a lot from late 80s and early 90s thrash metal (like Pantera, Metallica), but mellower with more groove, and a more modern sound. Best way is to listen to something. Maybe you can tell me what it is.
