I gave up doing the "pants blousing" a couple years ago. Like, I'm not in the military, have no intention of looking like I do, so I said fuck the blousing of pants option. Makes getting ready so much easier.

There is a learned skill to blousing trousers. Garden variety elastics can do it but caterpillars are best. Some folks like to call them boot bands.

Not blousing seems to be the one thing I'm having trouble adapting to! The modern take is loose will breath better and offer less pattern to recognize with NVG's?

I just like the idea of fewer things crawling up my legs. Maybe as I grow older I"ll welcome more little visitors.

Funny, that's something I never even thought about, yet is something that hasn't happened to me yet. Good point though.

Ok folks, I'm gonna hijack this thread a little bit, sorry Stalker. Although it is somewhat on the same topic.

I just reviewed the video for Humanity's Hammer, which is very close to being done by the way, and noticed even more interesting FACTS!

Let me just preclude my comments with, I've played this game for many years now and understand some people can't seem to get it through their thick skulls that cheating sucks and hurts EVERYONE in the game, from the admin all the way down to the person playing their first game.

Now, with that being said, the wonders of high definition video can really open up a hosts eyes to what is 'really' going on at a game.

Let me expand on this statement.

I first mentioned that I noticed several people running high-caps at my NO high-cap game. Several have come forward via PM with reasonable excuses, many have not. Game rule #1 broken.

Game rule #2 was 'Dead Men Don't Talk". I have some fantastic video of a DEAD player, who will remain nameless, who felt it necessary to divulge some crucial information to his fellow team mates, about the whereabouts of an opposing player who had crawled for a good 10 minutes to find a sweet ambush position. Unbelievable.

And last but not least, rule #3, "Call Your Hits"!!! If have several examples of players who were "obviously" hit and did not call it. I understand the nuances of hit calling... but these were OBVIOUS hits folks.

I just want to conclude with, I can't believe the levels of B.S. I watched. There was a handful of players who played with energy, got into the spirit of the game and played with honour. Conversely, there was a poop load of players who flat out cheated, on one or several rules.

Cheating seems to be an absolute when it comes to airsoft but this level of rampant cheating is off the hook for a bunch of people who claim to play by the honour system and want to "simulate" real military conflict.

This forces me as a host to impose all sorts of stupid ass rules and systems to keep everybody in line when it comes to rules.

I suppose this rant was to identify the reality of the game, and my high level of disappointment in the community at large.

^ about that game, there was one point where i was laying in ambush for a squad of about 4 guys, i jumped up (i know noob move, was my first game but hey) and opened up with full auto, I'm pretty damn sure that I got the guy walking point, and my dead teammate who this same squad had killed

just moments before further along the path who was behind them, confirmed that he saw the pointman flinch and the 2nd guy attempt to "block" the fire, long story short, they all light me up. btw this was in front of the camera man, can't wait to see the dvd tho, should be nice!

Listen, I would prefer people not start a finger pointing discussion and waste valuable thread space to resolve the issue. I felt it important that the 'host' inform everyone about what I saw and that I am going to attempt to deal with it. It is just the very unfortunate state of our game that we even need to have this discussion.

I hate it when people treat Noobs like crap.... It makes all of us look like we are a bunch of jerks....

Makes me wonder how I'll be treated after a few year break?

Ahahah! I was totally there. Hopefully it won't lead to any bitter feelings. I talked to some of those guys after and they were just as nice as anyone else. They just wanted to have their own game I guess.

yah i talked to them too but that marine guy just said "there's issues with your club" and turns his back to load his CLEAR mag (i got no respect for a guy who drops a g in cloths but cant spent the same on the reason for joining a sport.)

But i later talked to another guy from the group and he was GREAT, a real nice guy wearing the old Russian getup. He said that they didnt want to play with us because they liked to focus on things like safty.

I dont know how we were being unsafe but if they had a good time then its all cool. I figure after some time they will just join JOC, its what happens with all Calgary Clubs

Safety's #1 at JOC (and any other airsoft club) too. I did see a few of them playing with clear guns and I have no problem with that. If that's all someone has the funds for I think it's great there's a club willing to support them and get them started. In a lot of ways I think JOC could be more tolerant that way although not allowing a few JOC members to join in a skirmish (a pistol one at that) isn't very tolerant of them either. I think there just needs to be a dialogue opened between the 2 clubs. I poked around and tried to find a website so I could drop in and say hi but couldn't find anything.

The 3 PTW owners who went out of their way to PM me how there's no way my "cheap Chinese gun" (Real Sword Type 56) is more realistic than their $2500 PTW that cost 3 times more. Like WTF? Was that really necessary?!?

Pet peeve: Touchy PTW owners. Every time one breaks, I snicker inside.

If I paid $2500 for a PTW I'd trick myself into believing it was better than sex too.
