??? What do you plan on doing with it? Walk around your city brandishing it in your hands?

Well what would you do with a real handgun if you had it? Carry it around in your back pocket? No you would keep it locked away at home and transport it safely to a range where you can use it.

So...that means what exactly?

Airsoft guns aren't toys dude. If these were toys, why would SWAT and Police have you gun-pointed and probably getting shot at? Also it isn't sad, it's how you use it that will get you in trouble. Reasons why we use it on the field is to keep the sport and hobby safe.

Well no...but maybe do target practice in my backyard? After all the airsoft ranges/fields are not near, so I could only go once a week at most.

technically in your backyard would be okay cause its your property... I THINK! i think it would be better though if someone clarified this aspect for me and Mac.

EDIT: once a week airsoft is really good. i wish i could play that much...

Lol really? I find it hard to grasp the concept of spending so much money and then only be using it....so sparingly. But I guess thats the deal with this, just a new concept. I'm pretty sure I'll take up on it.

It wouldn't be okay in your backyard. What if your neighbours freaked out and called the Police?

Target practice in your backyard? Your not the first to come to this website stating that they would love to use an airsoft target shoot, and like many others, I would like to suggest to you that maybe a pellet gun would be more suited to your needs. The costs are less and they are easier to aquire.

A real gun, a pellet gun or an airsoft gun, if I was someone who lived next door and did not know any better and looked out my kitchen window, and saw someone brandishing some form of firearm , I would call the police.

If you want to target shoot, get a real gun and go to a range,or a pellet gun and go out to a farm, airsoft guns can be accurate to an extent but if your gona shoot paper and cans, get a pellet gun.

Exactly! Which is my point. I can't use it anywhere but the fields!

Thanks for that Sherlocks. lol
Why not shoot it in your basement? Or hall-way?
Much safer, no wind, and no complaints if you wanted to target practise like you said.

i know my friend bought a paintball gun that he made to look exactly like an M4. point is, he informed the neighbours, even showed them the gun, just to let them know not to freak out. technically, from my understanding, you are allowed to shoot them in your backyard, so long as it and what it shoots stays in your backyard. i think if you inform your neighbours and they are cool with it, you are fine.

Theres bylaws about discharging in your backyard... lol. (well anywhere within the city for that matter)

for example, brantford ontario:

Quote:
No person or persons shall discharge guns or other firearms and airguns, spring guns, cross bows, long bows, or any class or type thereof within the City of Brantford
Check the bylaws for your city. Regardless of the laws, airsoft guns are 10x more realistic therefor will catch attention 10x faster lol.

Sorry, but that's how it is. Take some comfort in that if you choose airsoft, there are a lot of people in the same boat. If you always shoot it inside your house if you've got enough room, just make sure your curtains are closed. Otherwise, the police will show up.

No not really. It's a risk that you can and will be punshed.
