Mate, it's not because it's not new or different that he doesn't have the right to do it.

Sometimes when it comes to creating, it doesn't necessarily have to be new or different, it might be a boring and abused item such as a plain old armalite yet what really matters is how the artist feels about it.

Andy Warhol was one of the key figure of Pop-art and is world reknown yet one of the thing that made him popular was his Campbell's Soup cans paintings. He painted just an ordinary object, just like the real one and today those paintings are worth millions. I'm not saying that that guy's M4 or Mwhatever might eventually be worth millions, I'm saying that it's ok to model ordinary, not new and not different objects and we should respect the artist for his art.

It's so clear that the writer, director and producer of that movie should have invented new weapons since we've already seen M4's and AK-47's in movies.

When it comes to modeling, texturing, animating and drawing and just plain creating; the author/artist has the right to do whatever he wishes too since it's his work.

I respect the artist of that model even though I think alot of work is needed for it.
Think about what you just said. Do you feel kinda dumb? No? let's keep talking then.

Did my statement have anything to do with the importance of originality in art, or lack thereof? No. You were talking out of your ass, something you seem to do quite often.

Your first post in this thread leads me to believe that you do see a value in reinvention, or originality in commercial artistic works. You then try to align me with a fragment of your own point of view, and argue against it. That's like the dumbest thing I've seen all week, and I live in a fucking frat house.

Anything else?

dude, I really don't know what's wrong with you, I don't even know you nor have I ever talked to you and right before you named me in one of your post never even noticed you existed. You however claim that I seem to be talking quite often out of my ass which leads me to believe you have known me for a longer time than I do and appear to hold something against me. If you think there's anything wrong with me, just PM me.

Your statement didn't have anything to do with originality or whatever, hell it didn't have anything to do with me at all. You stated that the forearm was a KAC so where does that concern me?

Finally, Originality and Innovation are both extremely good when it comes to art. It's what sets you apart but however good it is, it's not a requirement to do anything. It is not because someone is not original and does not innovate that he doesn't have the right to do anything and I strongly believe we should respect his work. What doesn't make sense in that? Everything else I posted in this thread revolved around that; respect the artist's work even if it's not by your standards of originality. If everything HAD to be New and Original to exist the world would be quite empty.

Now if you have anything concerning that please post it. On the other hand, if you still plan on attacking me personally please do so via PM since I have no clue who the hell you are and what the fuck you're holding against me.

Not as bad as counter-strike's backward armalite that one cocks by pulling on the forward assist.
