Im looking to get a NV system but i dont know where to start looking. I would like to get one out of the states because of our strong doller.

You can get a new ITT PVS 7 from the Spy Store on Mcleod Trail for around $4,000.00. Or a Bushnell from Canadian tire for $300.00. Dont know about the Yukons, stay away from Crown Surpus though, very nice people but EXPENSIVE! Good luck.

I have some Gen 4 NV, and have played with alot of stuff.
So I can give you some good advice on what to get and what not.

DO NOT GET GEN 1, save your pennies untill you can afford gen 2+, thats when you will really enjoy your purchase.
Also, get a monocular, you will thank yourself for it down the road, your ability to mount it on your weapon, or head is great, and its easy to adapt to the monocular, unlike the goggles.

Honesty, go to your bathroom, grab two empty roles of toilet paper, and put them over your eyes, and look how much of your depth perception is lost.
Then try with just one roll, you will see a huge difference.

Hope that helps.

I would suggest something that is more universal.
You wont get a chance to use it often enough while airsofting, so you may aswell make it somewhat more usefull,
That said, NV is best on your head, so you can navigate around the bush easier without your weapen at ready.
Also, if you ever get an IR laser, you can shoot it from over your head or around obstacles easier.

Seekah has a wicked pair of goggles, basically it's the difference of everything being in focus, or being a great big haze. They were better than any I've ever used.

seekah's stuff is such high quality i bet it would rival U.S. army issue. trust me i have seen it in use. just dont ask him how much it cost. as far getting night vision from the U.S.,,,good luck with that, night vision with us made parts are banned for export and the stuff that does come in from the states is older technology and high priced. gen1 is is exactly that,,gen1 no fancy bells or whistles like other units but works well for what it is.

here is my set up

i dont like the IR illuminator with the gen1, i prefer to use an IR filter over my tac/light. way better results.
make no mistake,gen1 is low quality but for what it is it does work quiete well. i can get you the same set up i have,gen1 unit, headgear, carrycase for $300.00

here's a night vision IR strobe demo. keep in mind that the only reason you can see the IR beam from my gen1 unit is because i have the camera's night vision turned on. this beam is 100% invisible to the naked eye.

I've farted with a bunch of NV scopes and this one is one of the best for the buck. It's a 1+ but is as good as my buddies 2+.

http://www.opticsplanet.net/d-143.html

I'll bring it down to trek if you want to check it out.
