Do you think customs would seize this?

Was just browsing around, and I was wondering if resin models (not airsoft, non functioning) could get past customs?

i.e. This

http://www.newmoonprops.com/BSG75Fin.JPG (too big for this page)
There is also a completed model, unpainted is $40, painted is $65 (US I assume). Just as a collectible/display piece, because I really enjoy the BSG series

or higher quality:

I would assume that they would make it through, because it's not a replica of a real gun and can't fire anything...it's all hydrocarbon secretion of many plants in the shape of a futuristic gun. But I would prefer someone telling me that it can make it through (painted?)

No offense, but that one and the painted one look like shit. They're not very good looking "replicas".

cause it's resin... and whoever painted it, wasn't very skilled.

The only other replicas pop up on ebay now and again for $200, these are cheap guns (as mentioned on the site) and not "hero weapons". There are many replicas out there, but I can settle for this one (I doubt I would buy it anytime soon, and by the time I do I may try for a better one).

That aside, will any of the non-functioning prop weapons (resin?) get past customs?

EDIT: If I did end up buying from this site, I'd get the original resin because the painted one does look awful. The paint on the grip has empty spots, and is getting on the reciever, etc.

functionality of a gun is not at issue
if it looks to resemble a gun, then it may be called a replica firearm and be seized.
it does not have to shoot anything.

Doesn't it have to replicate or resemble a production firearm to be considered a replica?

It was a while back, but I got the SciFi Models miniseries-version kit, and later, a Matsucorp season 1 kit, and neither was seized... Although, in hindsight, I may have gotten very lucky on both occasions.
Matsucorp's version has a base revolver (like the actual ones) which he cast using transparent resin upon learning that it would be coming into Canada.
The SciFi Models version had just a grip/partial frame (I had to build a surrogate revolver to support and fill the clamshell vents properly), so that may have helped.

I got one of those things from a replica prop forum (except mine was molded and rotocast in black resin (no bubbles/cracks/warps) etc. Mine came from somewhere in the States, no problems with Canada customs.

(and it's purty, too, by the way.) lol

I could've simply been lucky, though.
