Well don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about knock-you-on-your-ass-for-ten-minutes hurt, more like really-painful-bee-sting hurt. I just don't like to mislead people into thinking all they'll feel is a light tap and carry on. I have shot guys sometimes and seen them double over for a good minute before calling out, but that's usually inexperienced noobs that aren't expecting it and they are caught off guard.

Our max fps in CQB is 350 fps and at close range I've had bleeders through my clothing on the top of my arm. It's routine to see guys walk out of the arena with dozens of bloody pockmarks on their bodies, arms especially. Usually it's because they were trying to be tough guys and went in short sleeves or a tank top, but sometimes someone forgets to chrono their damn gun before going in.

yeah i didnt mean that its excrutiating pain or anything, i just meant that it makes the game intensity a little more tense when you know that someone could be around the corner ready to unload on you and you KNOW its going to be unpleasant lol

It does sting for a few seconds. I'd definately take being shot point blank with an airsoft rifle over simunition. I was enemy force for simunition training on one ex, I wasn't too concerned till I got peppered by the first patrol through. Nobody seemed to understand when you get shot stop shooting. I had a whole sections worth of fire nailing me from about 10 ft. Come the second patrol I screwed one of theirs over pretty good though, even had a chance to change mags.

Really wouldn't know, haven't used one in over 12 years.

Play CQB with 450fps if you want a new level of intensity. I do.

haha! Actually it did not hurt. I was pissed off, but it didn't hurt. The same way haircuts don't hurt. My grin still works fine I heard about this guy who can fix teeth, if you want I can give you his #.

As far as wearing "protection" in the field, the best protection is playing with a bunch of guys who know what they are doing. I've shared the feild with a bunch of great guys for most of the outdoor games I have attended. Sans vest. Playing a Box MAG P90 I have no use for a vest. I've been shot in the back, front, head, face, stones, knees, fingers, hands, ( I guess I'm not really good at this game) I've gone on vacation with to Bleeder scars, one on each cheek, so they look great in the Pics.
Play with out a vest and you will learn mutual respect for the other members sharing the field. Then if you want a vest to carry mags or go with your Milsim, you won't think of it as "protection". Perhaps you may not need it.

You guys that only wear ballistics are CRAZY!!!! I wear full face mask. The last thing I want is 3 in the teeth. As for being hit by hot guns. It stings!!! Guns under 320fps are not so bad.

Face masks don't allow me to bring my head to the gun to aim properly, radios are a bitch, it restricts me from yelling without dislodging the mask, and when I bring my head down to aim it hits the gun stock and goes *tick* which can give away my position. Just keep your mouth closed in a firefight, I've seen lots of people get swollen lips, a lot better than a broken tooth. In the Ottawa/Montreal area you see maybe 1 in 20 wear a mask (usually closer to 1 in 30 or 40), even in CQB.
